I'll admit that I used to, but one close call a few years ago that included losing my passenger side mirror changed that. I woke up in bed fully dressed with the light on, and didn't really remember anything that happened between getting in the car and waking up. Luckily no real harm was done, but I learned my lesson that night (or actually that next hungover morning).I don't get behind the wheel anymore if I've had more than three drinks.

You realize, don't you, that your Mother is against it.

Sorry, but driving under the influence is not a laughing matter, and I'm very surprised that anyone rated it more than a 1. Every day the newspaper chronicles the tragic deaths and injuries caused by driving under the influence. This offense deserves much more severe punishment than currently imposed. Although the current punishment is fairly severe, jail time should be mandatory for even first offenders. Remember, alcohol always makes you feel more confident of your abilities, and you don't realize the extent to which your judgment and driving ability is impaired. I know whereof I speak, since as a former prosecutor I tried many such cases, to the point where I could almost recite a toxicologist's testimony by heart. I rode two full night shifts a year with the Highway Patrol, so believe me when I tell you they are very determined impaired-driver hunters when the sun goes down. Take a cab--it's much cheaper in the long run, and the life you save may be yours or mine.

No thanks. I'd rather pull over and have sex, or discuss politics.... On second thought, forget about the politics.

If you are going to drive drunk, you might as well go 120 miles per hour. What the hell.

There is always somewhere else I feel like I would really rather be when I'm drunk. Plus my truck drives so much smoother when I'm drunk. Well, smooth right up until the part where I total it and catch another DWI. So besides jail and near death experiences, driving is most enjoyable while drunk.

Not fun at all. . .but I had to get my car back to the house or else know it wouldn't survive the night in the bar district.
