Kazan does a great job here- it was his tribute to the 'New Deal' and FDR. Montgomery Clift gives a subtle and sensitive performance as the Government worker trying to 'evict' the Tennessee 'hillbilly' family from the land that will soon be under water from the damming of the river. Great Job by Lee Remick and Jo Van Fleet as well. Wonderful color photography. Great film that has been largely forgotten.
