Senator Kennedy brought countless bad policies to America and many of them cost Americans a lot of money needlessly. He was almost as bad as Obama in many of his policies and was good at spending other people's money (taxpayers). We need more Ronald Reagans, not Kennedy style high tax, welfare state socialist policies that add needless red tape U.S. citizens lives.

I often go to MA and you pick up lots of Teddy Kennedy stories in that state. I should have staked out some of my ex-wives as bait when he was around. That would have saved me some alimony.

Should be higher on this list. . .but years of some good work on the Hill and the obligatory post-stroke love has made some youngsters forget that this guy got away with what many Kennedy men do- wind up with dead women around them.

Ted Kennedy is not as much of a polarizer as others of his ilk - he does, however, garner attention from time to time because of his outrageous statements and stances on various issues. He's proven to have been a cad, a liar, a manipulator, and an embarassment many times over. I know that there are plenty of apologists for the Kennedy family in general, and Ted in particular, but things like having been thrown out of Georgetown for cheating, Chappaquiddick, running around au naturel in Florida while cavorting with his nephew's girlfriend (or something like that - details are fuzzy in my mind), being somewhat of a boozer, practicing his Catholic faith in a somewhat cavalier fashion - all tend to establish a track record that does not put him in a favorable light.

He's polarizing in the respect that Republicans use his name as a synonym for evil and depravity. He's exhibited terribly bad judgment, and I don't think anyone could admire the way he has conducted his personal life. As a politican, he seems to display an interest in individuals who don't live in gated communities or on golf courses--which is always a characteristic that sets Republican teeth on edge.Realistically, this guy does not have a lot of influence, so he is polarizing for no one except Republican paranoiacs.

Here, in what ought to be the autumn of his career, when most lifelong politicians begin to soften and become more conciliatory, somebody wakes Ted up so he can accuse a sitting president of lying to the American people (as if democrats haven't condoned that!), says US Management at Abu Graib is worse than that of Saddam's regime, compromising the safety of every soldier and US citizen in Iraq, and characterizes the friendship of France, Germany and Russia as somehow important to the US in our fight against islamofascists. He obviously wants something from a mythical President Kerry. A cabinet job, ambassadorship, etc. We need this guy representing us the way we needed Janet Reno as the top law enforcement official in the US. What a great mentor he has been to John Kerry.

A little extreme, Ted. Hey, put down that bottle when I'm talking to you!

This guy lost it when he became a complete drunk and killed his girlfriend.
