Makes me angry, so I don't watch him anymore! Just not always accurate on his details!

On right now. Watch him skewer the left. My hero...Barney Frank's on. Where's my man purse?

He's not a politician. He does not fit the category.

I really can't stand O'Reilly-he acts like he shoots straight (which he often doesn't) but then will harass interns on the side.

I will agree with Frank that O'Reily is marginally irrelevent. The hilarious thing is how many people here think that all Republicans are conservative, all conservatives are Republican, or that Bill O'Reily speaks for either. Bill is about Bill- period.

I don't know that he's particularly polarizing, people on one end of the spectrum listen to him and think he's brilliant and at the other end they think he's an asshole and a wind bag. But his comments and show don't really make any impact on the political debate do they? He speaks to a convereted audience and is ignored by the rest of the world. Everyone in the political centre is watching Charles Gibson because he reminds them of the father they wanted to be closer to but could never work up the courage to tell him that they love him. Or they watch Brian Williams for the hairstyling tips and Katie Couric because they think she's sexy. Maybe I have the last two turned around.

Until today, I never thought of O'Reilly as a "politician," though he clearly was a political advocate. Now, with the revelation that The O'Reilly Factor was taking its talking points straight from the White House press corps, my perception has changed. He isn't an independent voice advocating for a particular political slant; instead, he is an arm of the state. Just as much as, say, Armstrong Williams, who was caught being paid to propagandize, O'Reilly is an unelected, hence anti-democratic, politician, like Rove, etc. The difference is that O'Reilly concealed this fact from us, posing as an independent voice.

He seems like a nice dude:

O'Reilly can be a little pushy and arrogant with his views, thus making him polarizing. I personally find some of his takes interesting, however I don't like it when the guy get on his soapbox with his pious b.s. A closer examination of his views will reveal however that he's very pragmatic and rational in many of his views. He's far from a mouth-piece for the Hannity-Limbaugh right, especially on issues like the death penalty, global warming, and even the Iraq War to an extent. Sometimes he lets his emotions get ahead of his mind, and that's where he loses points.

Bill O'reilly is only polarizing to people who might not know much about him, or who automatically believe everything they hear. True, he does have an annoying penchant for yelling Shut up! and he can be downright rude at times. But I have seen shows where, almost as if from left field (literally!) he supports views that one would not expect him to have based upon everything else they hear about him. For example, he said he doesn't think only Christians will get into heaven; he mentioned he has Buddhist and Muslim friends he is sure will go to heaven. So he's more complex - and interesting - than many people give him credit for being.

Again.. many of these people are not politicians.
