If Team USA plays like this again in 2008, they may never win another medal. The so-called "Dream Team" were playing like a group of individuals. No wonder they didn't win a medal that year.

This team was a bunch of egos...the original dream team had some of the biggest names in basketball but some of the most team oriented too. They played as a team and won as a team.

"Me First and the Gimme Gimmes"

Definetely a huge dissappointment - If anything, it showed the need for a TRUE National Team and not some Dream Team wannabes thrown together a month or two in advance. Don't get me wrong, I love Larry Brown, but he was the wrong coach for a team like this, he doesn't mesh well with young egomaniacal superstars, and this team obviously didn't mesh well together. This was a classic example of a whole being worth less than the sum of it's parts.

Great individuals can make for a lousy team.

Only dubya's fantasy-chessboard Iraq war was planned worse than this athletic fiasco. Was there ever a more talented team that underperformed so much?
