If you want to be disappointed, then go to Ichiban. 2 takeouts and one eat in was enough. First they take forever to get food on the table, an then, halfway down the meal the bring the tab and rush you out-NO restaurant experience, just fast food feeling. Also I ordered take out, to later realize at home that it wasn't what I ordered. I called and they say thaks for telling us and hung up. The second take out was falling appart, it was not well put together, so I called and spoke with the owner's daughter, she didn't believe me, and didn't even offer a refund. I told her that I would bring it back and she said not to bother, because I would probably took it apart myself. I took a photo, put it on an envelope and mailed it to them, along with my address and never received an apology or nothing. I used to eat lunch there when they were small just about every day. Success got to their heads with no customer service whatsoever. TERRIBLE !!! if you want good sushi go to Dragonfly or either one of the two Bentos

They have good food, and the servers really are all nice people, but the management makes it not worth it at all. I knew people who worked there and they told me horror stories. The management never wanted to refund or comp anything (if the customer didn't like what they ordered, if there was a hair in it, etc) and would argue with the customers to avoid losing money, and sometimes would still refuse to compensate customers for their mistakes. The manager would frequently tell server's tables to leave because there was a wait (even if there really wasn't, even if they had just finished eating, etc) and the servers hated it, there was nothing they could do about it. I've never heard of such blatant disregard for customer service. It's a good place to eat if everything is (miraculously) perfect, but if you don't like it, there's a wait, there's a mistake, etc don't expect to be compensated for anything and expect to leave frustrated and abused.

After purchasing a gift certificate and speaking with the manager about a large take out order for a luncheon the following week, I left with my take-out order. I realized when I got home that the order was not correct. I called stating they may have mixed up our order and they may want to check their other take-out orders as they may have gotten them in the wrong bags. The receptionist was very nice and said she remembered me and she remembered placing the wrong order with the sushi chef. She offered to replace the order if I would return. I told her what time I would be back. Within a few minutes she called back asking if I still had my order form for sushi because without it, the manager indicated they could not make any changes and it would not be prepared and waiting for me. I would have to wait for it when I got there after bringing back the proof. Not only was I offended that they assumed I was lying but I did not want to wait other 20 minutes after already traveling there the first time with the inconvience of having to return. I took the entire order back, handed them my order card as proof and still the manager argued with me asking why I didn't like what I had. I told him it was not what I ordered and we did not care for the fish in the sushi we are given. At that point I was so angy, I just told him not to bother. I did not want anymore food and to credit my card. He was still arguing as I left the restaurant and never did credit the card.

Well, I have eaten at Ichiban's once before today and it was absolutely incredible! However, at about 2:30 Monday 3-24-2008 I had a craving for sushi so I went and got take out from Ichiban's. From the minute I walked in I was not even addressed by the guy behind the counter eating his late lunch (I guess) so I walked over to the counter and the guy there sent me back to the guy at the desk who didn't really want to even tell me about his take-out menu or even greet me.. All he said was "this is the sushi menu" I stood there for a little bit because I'm not familiar with the rolls..He didn't offer to help..Then he rang me up and told me to wait.. so I went over to the counter and waited.. after about 10 min.(after he finished his lunch) he got up went over to a frig. where I saw him get my roll.. he went around the counter and handed it to a guy and told him to cut the roll.. then he bagged it and went around to his desk got my condiments and then summoned me over to get my food (couldn't walk to 2 feet to where I was sitting).. when I got my food the outside of my crispy roll tasted burnt.. but I didn't go back because frankly I didn't feel welcome.. Don't get me wrong it was not the food that bothered me as much as the service from that particular guy.. I really fell like I totally interrupted his lunch, bottom line.

absolutely love ichiban! Wonderful experience each time, so many things to try from! Dion is the best waiter invented! Occasionally at busy times it can be a little slow and the waits seem a tad overwhelmed, but it's not for lack of trying. That is managements fault for not having enough help.

I was severely disappointed with the manager at Ichiban sushi. We were asked to leave our table just after paying for our dinner (and we bought a substantial amount of sushi). Our waiter asked us to leave on the behalf of the manager so that he could sit a group of 4 waiting for a seat (they were the only 4 waiting). The waiter was only doing his job, but when I confronted the manager he immediately gave me the brush off and gave me excuses, like, "it was a joke", "the waiter followed another waiters instruction", and "should I believe the word of a young kid". Young he may be, be he came up to me in the parking lot an apologized profusely, stating that he was only doing his managers bidding. Not only did he insult me, but the manager also insulted my intellengence! I have never been asked to leave a table at a restaurant, even when I've stayed well after the check was paid. This is the first, and it will be the last because I intend never to eat there again, and I will warn my friends and collegues of my experience. There are other sushi places that are just as good if not better. I will spend my money there. I would give them zero stars if I could.

It's a shame. This place used to be great before they expanded. Now their food quality has gone down quite a bit. Old brown avocado is a regular in their rolls, as well as some often inedible fish.

I went to Ichiban sushi last week and got take out. I was impressed with the quality of the food and the fair price they offered. Just by waiting in the restaurant for the order to get ready, I saw that the restaurant has a great atmosphere. I'm definitely going back to sit down and have a nice meal. For those that choose the take away option, I highly recommend the Bento 3 box. Its an awesome deal!

You've gotta appreciate a place with a little stuffed cow sitting on the cash register, holding up a little sign that says "Eat Mor Sushi". Don't mind if I do . . . ATMOSPHERE: 4/5. With a more setting leaning more towards the traditional, I appreciated the Japanese-motif paitings on the walls. The place was PACKED (but, it IS a Friday night), and a little claustrophobic, but comfortable. SERVICE: 4/5. Very polite servers; the waitress checked up on us pretty often throughout our meal. The whole place seemed kind of friendly. FOOD QUALITY: 4/5. Pretty good stuff; the fish was pretty fresh. The miso soup was light, but good. The salmon roll's rice was a little on the mushy side, but, being as it was a super-busy night, I figure that they just didn't have the time to let the rice cool. The California Roll was pretty good, though didn't stand out too much. The Flying Shrimp roll was nice. The best roll we had was the Ichiban roll, a generous-sized roll with cooked salmon, and a really light, sweet sauce covering it. Nice. The Yaki Udon noodles was pretty standard, but good. FOOD QUANTITY: 5/5. Whoa. The "standard" salmon rolls and California rolls didn't stand out, but they really give a lot for their specialty rolls! The Yaki Udon also came out in a pretty good-sized portion. We left full and satisfied, and I STILL got a boxful of leftovers. PRICE: 5/5. For two drinks, a bowl of miso soup, one salmon roll, one california roll, one flying shrimp roll, one Ichiban roll, and a big bowl of Udon noodles, the total for two (not including tip) still slid under the $40.00 mark. If we got two of the Bento boxes, which from the menu looked pretty generous, our meals together would have been about $30.00. Great deal. OVERALL: I'd give it an overall 4.5 easily; it might not have the flair of Dragonfly, this place replaces style with substance, and a LOT of it. I'll be going back in the near future.
