I am sorry that Mary Jo had to die, but if she did, then she gave her life in a great cause. Keep EMK out of 1600 Pennsylvania except when he is invited to a booze party.

Too bad the evening ended on a bad note. Witnesses said things were going swimmingly.

Ted Kennedy. Great bartender. Bad date.

One of the original pieces of evidence that never, under any circumstances, should you get into any kind of motorized vehicle with a Kennedy. . .it's like another one of my favorite rules: "Never shoot pool against a man who brings his own stick"

A fascinating scandal in that there has been no resolution to it. Every other major political scandal has resulted either in exculpation (the Clinton scandals) or punishment (though Harding avoided this by dying, and Nixon by resigning). Ted Kennedy was never brought to trial; yet-at the very least-he was guilty of manslaughter. Together with the OJ trial, Chappaquiddick is proof that while the American system of justice usually works, a man of wealth, fame and power can often escape justice-no matter how heinous his crimes. We can only hope that there's a special place in Hell reserved for Senator Ted Kennedy....

a slap on the wrist for vehicular manslaughter? did teddy even get a dui for this? this made such an impression on teddy he stopped drinking. well, thought about stopping drinking. nah, he probably didn't even think about drinking less while he was pouring his 10th cocktail of the morning.

I'm really tired of the goody two-shoes Republicans that keep bringing this up. Like your convicted drunk driving, coke-addicted AWOL fly-fly boy did any better.

I find it fascinating that Ted was not tried at least for manslaughter!

Ok, the junior first term Senator from Massachusetts, brother of the slain president Jack, brother of slain presidential candidate Bobby, attends a party of six married guys and six single women (all in their 20's) on Chappaquiddick Island. Ted leaves the party with one girl, it turns out later she is pregnant, the girl dies in his car which he has driven off the side of a bridge, extricates himself from, swims and walks away from and reports to police ten hours later, after meeting with his advisors. He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident. Nothing else. No scandal there.
