As a recovering opiate addict, I find that 5 hour energy has the vitamin b complex to help one of the most depleted vitamins that were destroyed in the body. It helps with my mind and energy. When one is on opiates for a long time, your enery level is depleted. I am very greatful for this drink as it does help me recover from long term opiate addiction and gives me energy to get out of bed and do a few things around the house. thank you

Me and my friend each drank half the bottle to test it.I had a basketball game an hour before and when during my warm-up and through out the game I felt dizzy and even more tired than I was before.Same with my friend, he felt the same way I did.I was hoping it would work since I read many positive reviews about this drink but unfortunately it didn't give us that kick that I thought it would.

5 stars to the berry flavored, 2 starts for the lemon lime flavored. (it's kinda gross)I found that I do on occasion get a little jittery when taking a whole bottle if I haven't ate, so I will only take half like the bottle says and it does just fine. It gives me a nice smooth boost of energy, rather than a quick burst like Monster or redbull tends to do. There really is no crash later. I also like taking this energy drink because I can take it late in the day and still fall asleep if I want too and it doesn't interfere with my sleep at all like other drinks can. I also like that it is so small, a few sips and the whole bottle is gone, no more 16-20oz of carbonated beverage to upset my stomach.I have once experienced the "flush" that they report on the back of the bottle but it lasted only a few minutes and was really not that bothersome. It is a little pricey though so I do not buy it often

Oh wow where to begin. My late-thirties daughter who was running 12 miles a day this summer drank a whole bottle of 5-hour Energy just prior to her daily runs and she said it gave her the boost to both motivate and sustain her in the run. I'm a 59-year old overweight woman plagued by night-time eating and nothing and I mean nothing has helped me--I've tried everything. As the weight has piled on my energy level has fearfully dwindled to almost nothing which as you can imagine has only worsened my health and increased my weight and needless to say, the quality of my life is diminished because of this and I've fallen into depression. Late this afternoon I could hardly walk I was so exhausted. I remembered the 5-hour Energy drinks my daughter left here and drank one. It's exactly 7 hours later and still have I not eaten anything since dinner, nor have I even thought of food. For anyone with this problem, you know what a blue-ribbon event this is if drinking 5-hour Energy does this for me tomorrow and the next day and the next day.I read many of the reviews here to find only two brief mentions of 5-hour Energy CONTROLLING APPETITE!!!!!!!!!!! I wrote that in caps in case it helps someone reading these reviews, and suffers from lack of appetite control, could also be helped by this drink. As my screename says--here's hoping I've found the solution to a life-long curse of night time eating. During these seven hours after drinking it, I've felt extremely alert, focused, and at peace. It's midnight, and though I don't feel tired, I do feel as though I will fall asleep quickly when I go to bed soon. I'll report back in a few days and weeks to give you updates of how it's going. Please wish me luck!! And, certainly I hope anyone with this problem of overeating benefits from 5-hour Energy.

personally it works great for me no side effects n energy for most of the dayfor all those complaining that this stuff sucks is that not every one is the same we all react differently to different substances and have different tolerance levels for some this is to much for the body to handle n the body goes into a panic mode over its ingredients. others have a high tolerance and don't feel a thing.what i suggest is follow the commercial drink half n see how your body reacts if needed drink moreif it doesn't work you may need something stronger. like any other substance u have think about itif your a light person u don't need much to feel if u have a past of severe reactions to what you take don't take much or don't take it at all. its effects depends on how your body reacts its not going to work the same on every one

I am 43 years old and have been an avid runner for eight years. I have tried the GU gels during my runs and had trouble with nausea after taking them. I was wanting to try the 5 hour energy shots, but was not sure how I would react to it. The first time I tried one, it worked! I took one about 30 minutes before my run, I also had a light snack with it. I didn't have any ill side effects from it while I was running, and my running pace has increased by about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes per mile! Now, if I need a boost in the afternoon, while I am at work, I will do a half of one bottle. Gets me thru the rest of the afternoon. And, I do not crash afterwards either. If anything, I sleep much better at night!

For all of you who say this product does not work. It does... its science.5 hour energy is designed to but your body into an energy producing mode by giving it B vitamins that act as a coenzyme to break down energy molecules in your body. In order for it to break down the energy there must be something there! So before drinking this try to have some food in your system. Eat a meal bar or have some fruit. It works... a little pricey (4 stars)... but it works.

i am 19 years old today, i hate to drink monster and other energy drinks, i have had a problem staying awake in class even when i would get good nights sleep, i never thought that it was a energy problem, as soon as i would get bord in class i would have major attention issues, i would not hear things and miss other important things. i decided to try a monster one day before work, i didn't feel tired but i was extremely jittery, each drink made me want to hurl but i needed to stay awake, the next day i tried one of these 5 hour energy drinks, i drank it fast like directed, i have never felt so alive, i actually feel like doing things, today i took one before class and i had no problems, i could pay attention and i found my self participating more. My professors told me that they were surprised by my sudden alertness in class. I hate the fact that that i have to rely on an energy drink to do better in school but it really has helped me, i limit myself to only 3 a week after reading what is in them though, i give 5 hour energy a 5 out of 5, Thanks 5 hour energy for helping me toward my career!
Robin Sloan 09/04/2009
It has no synthetic "surge" of energy. It's a smooth transition into more alertness, focus, and energy. Also a plus, NO crash like some others. Perfect for those of us who do not want to drink 12 to 16 oz of liquid before we feel a difference.
bigdonthedj 09/02/2009
I have tried this as well as 2 other friends of mine. I tried it twice. We all had the same experience. Every time we tried it we all ended up falling asleep within 20 minutes. No joke. So, if you don't like sleeping pills, try this instead! It'll knock you flat out quicker than a punch to the chin by Mike Tyson!

5 Hour Energy is way over-priced. I tried one bottle just to see if it would work. I think it gave me a little more energy. But, I hardly noticed. If you shop around, you can get the same ingredients for a lot less money. If you are not used to consuming caffeine, you'd better take it slow and just consume part of a bottle. I "might" use this product again.. if I'm dragging and really need an extra kick. But, I centainly won't buy it very often. It should not cost as much as it does. We "suckers" are making someone very wealthy by paying big bucks this stuff.
outdoors24/7 08/20/2009
Perfect for any sportsman who has to get up early to go hunting or fishing . Makes you 100% alert without a crash later in the day.
Too True 08/19/2009
I found this to be a great boost. When I'm tired and can't function, caffiene doesn't do anything for me. I take this to help with my mental "awakeness." I find moments after downing this I have a mental clarity that helps me get through the day. It can effect everyone differently, but for me (who is not sensitive to the effects of anything) it really helps me get through long work days. It does make me feel a little warm (as the label warns it can), but I don't find it uncomfortable. I don't take it often, maybe a couple times a month after long nights of working late, etc. But I love it and would highly recommend it.
jbreezy586 08/18/2009
I decided to drink one of these at about 9:30am hoping it would help me wake up... instead, i fell asleep watching tv. I decided to drink a 2nd one around 12:30pm, even though it says you shouldn't take them so close to each other. I never felt the 2nd one either. It did nothing for me at all.

This is one of the best energy products on the market! I am 45, and have an ongoing back problems for yrs (2 surgeries, 2 level fusion 2nd surgery) So I take pain killers (vicodin) 3 times a day, which can leave me dragging at times. This little drink helps to get me moving on my worse days, and also does not leave me sleeping later in the day! 5 hour energy could use a little price adjustment, hopefully it comes down when they think they've gotten there millions made! But for the energy given, the price is comparable to a cup of coffee at the restaurant! Keepem coming!!!!!

Some track teammates and I decided to try this energy drink to see if it would give us extra energy in our events. This other kid and I got personal records that day. The other two didn't feel right after drinking it and they didn't do so well. I guess it reacts differently with some people. But now I drink one of these every time I need a little extra boost in my day and it does just as it says on the bottle. My boost lasted around 5 hours and I could go to sleep with no difficulties.

I will be 40 this year and have always worked out. It's getting harder to have natural energy so I am always looking for something to try to give me a boost of energy for my workouts.I tried this drink and really liked it, Orange tastes the best I think. I only take 1/2 a bottle before my workouts and have enough and then some energy to finish. Since I am very health conscious and don't really take anything (pills, coffee tea etc) I am very sensitive to anything I take, I was worried about the jittery feeling and most importantly not being able to sleep later on but had not problems, in fact I think because of the extra energy I can do more at the gym thus by the time the effect wears off I can sleep better since I am more tired. I would recommend to use sparingly just to give you the extra kick when you need it. I am sure there are some side effects; there always are when what you take is not natural.
hoopsterz23 08/05/2009
Tastes pretty bad, but it does the job, and doesn't have all that sugar thatthe other energy drinks have. This one is for adults.
PandaTV 08/05/2009
I've wanted to try this for some time, but after reading many of these reviews on here, I was scared to death. I decided to give it a try today, because I was exhausted. I work as a server, and I run up and down stairs all day, and it was extremely hot and humid today. I didn't see how I would make it through the day without some help, and it was too hot to drink tons of coffee.I took it around noon, and felt fine all day. It's 7pm now, and while I'm not tired, I don't feel that I will have a problem sleeping when the time comes. I had no jittery feeling, no come down, no weird side effects, other then I was thirsty, but that was probably due to the weather. Also, I don't know why everyone is saying that it tastes bad. I had the Berry flavor, and to me, it tasted like watered down Kool-Aid, it wasn't bad at all. I have no idea why so many felt bad from it. I would recommend it to anyone who is feeling tired and needs to gain some energy to make it through the day.

Last year I broke two bones in my leg. I was on A LOT of pain medication. Popping pills every 4 to 6 hours, and having to use crutches for 5 months really took it out of me. I was happilily using 5 Hour Energy whenever I had too much on my plate. It tastes terrible, but I held my nose and took it like a kid with cough syrup. Then one day, I was on a day trip out with my parents. The pain meds were taking their toll, so my Mom ran into a convience shop for me. I drank the bottle down, and quickly felt peppy (this is where things go bad). I was shopping in a jewelry store, when all of a sudden I had sweat running down my back and off my temples. My palms got so wet they were slipping on the crutch grips. Then the heart palpatations and the shaking in my hands started. I thought I was going to have to find a hospital. About 30 minutes later I was o.k. However, it was a scary 30 minutes. Now, it's writen on the bottle that these symptoms are possible, but when it's happening it's nerve racking and really uncomfortable. I'm back to coffee and tea for a boost. I may have to drink more ounce for ounce, but the taste and lack of heart attack symptoms are worth it. PS-Before you say it people, it was probably not caused by the mixture of my pain pills, and the 5 Hour Energy. I asked my orthopedic surgeon the next time I saw him. His advice was to stay away from any type of energy drink.

I am 52 years old and I love this product. I first tried it several months ago when I was sick with the flu. Man,did it help me get thru the day with my grand kids! I now keep some on hand all the time.I do not take it every day. I take only 1/2 bottle at a time. No jitters,no Buzz, just an awake and alert feeling. I am in a better mood.Much different effect than a cup of coffee for me.I like it if I have to take a day trip as it helps me focus better! If it was $1.00 a bottle,I'd buy more.Give it a try! 1/2 bottle and I'm good to go!!

I took this product two days in a row on my lunch break at work. Both days I was running on roughly 3 hours of sleep. First, a little about me, i'm a fairly small framed guy (5'9, 155lbs), from personal exerpience i've learned i have a "low tolerence" to just about any pharm drug ect...., and I have anxiety/panic attacks time to time. Also, i hadn't ate much in this two day span. Anyways, i found the effects to be quite beneficial. I was very alert, calm, clear headed, and motivated. However, i can see where this drink could lead to dependecy, but thats ultimately up to the user. It is a bit expensive too.

I just tried the energy drink yesterday and it kicked in and I went to work with a bang, maybe because of my size"petite" it lasted longer than 5 hrs and today I am sluggish like I have a hangover, not ever drinking it again!
Jus299 07/26/2009
before i state my opinion,i would just like to say that before i drank 5 hour energy i read the label and i tells you everything.it got some points in my book for that.i read some reviews for it and people said it made their skin red.it did say that on the label.when i drank it,the back of my throat burt a little bit.that made it a bit harder for me to swallow it.not to mention that the taste was awful!in my opinion,it taste a little bit better if you leave it in the fridge for a bit.it's an OK drink
Abaddon 07/26/2009
This was useless for me. I tried twice. Both times I was worried about having caffeine in my system, expecting a good result that would eliminate one of my 2 daily cups of coffee. After lunch both days I downed one of these. Right about my normal low-ebb time an hour after lunch, I was tired as usual. The first day, in fact, I was really wanting to doze off -- like I sometimes do if I have to sit and listen to a long meeting or training.I had my normal cup of coffee a couple hours later and I was right as rain.
fcmedic1 07/24/2009
People look at what you are putting into your body, you get all this from food. We Americans try to get everything instantly . When you get enough sleep, eat right, and drink water like you are supposed to, combined with just a little exercise, you will feel so much better-just try it. I am a fire medic on a unit that runs 12+ calls in a 24hr shift in metro atlanta. I know what it feels like to be tired and have a screwed up sleep pattern. 5 hour energy is crap- a three dollar shot of coffee-just give your body what it needs to function people.

I am an 18 year old female and I purchased the 5 hour energy shot to boost me in the morning for school.I had to force the shot down because the taste was awful, but little did I know that was the easy part. For the first 5 minutes or so I was feeling a rush of energy.Later, I experienced an increase in heart rate, shaking, dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath, which all lead to a panic attack.I though that perhaps my size was the reason I was experiencing this. (I'm a petite person and I don't require large quantities of caffeine, ect.)So I was on the couch in the fetal position dreading the 5 hours to come.I was tired, shaking, and hugging the toilet. It was literally a nightmare. a 5 hour nightmare with left over side effects that lasted for a few hours more.I laugh everytime I see the commercial on the t.v. I will never take this shot again. While it may work wonders for some people, it can have devestating effects on others and I encourage the company to put information about this out there and for the consumers to educate themselves before ingesting.

This stuff is great!!! I work a 9-5 job in an office. I used to go out drinking and party all night get a couple hours sleep(2-4) wake up and go to work. I would do this every night of the week. I would have to supperman it at work, which is going into the bathroom stall and changing from my normal clothes to business clothes. I would always be so tired at work and never liked coffee. I used to have a Mikey special for lunch, which is a nap in my car. I tried one of these and it worked great. kept me awake and never crashed so I could go out and do it all over again!!! I sometimes would have half at work and then half when I left to go out again.

I had the 5-hour Energy drink today for the first time. I got some experience in energy drink.the taste? who care if i want something to taste good ima buy champagne. I did not bought that for the taste, and honestly its a decent taste for a energy drink. I Bought it to have more energy during my judo training so i can have a better training. i drank it a 4pm same time i was eating a healthy food and a glass of water. I noticed a energy gain for sure, i was able to train harder. THE only problem i found with this product was its been 14 hours a drank it i still cant sleep. THEY F*cken said 5 hour and its been 14. im the kind of guy that sleep VERY VERY easely, everywhere and any time i want. and that just piss me off cause i got another training tomorow and im not having my normal night of sleep. I admit im not a big fan of coffee a rarely drink any. But i already drank coffee like 30 times in my life and i can sleep no problem with it. i have the same problem with rockstar (shooter) ! YES THE ENERGY BOOST AND THE GOOD MOOD BOOST ITS AMAZING BUT YEA AFTER 15 U FINALLY STARTING TO BE ABLE TO SLEEP. and its do not look like a deep sleep.Honestly THX FOR THE ENERGY BOOST FUCK YOU FOR THE INSOMNIA. U FUCKEN SAID 5 hours LIAR. anyways ima give it another shot cause i bought 2 bottle this time ima fucken take 1 little sip before my training. i dunno i want the '' high'' to be in my training. i dont want to have to drink it a 8 am i want energy from 6pm to 9:30 pm. i noticed that : Rockstar and 5 hour energy give insomnia while diet redbull do not cause insomnia. but i dont want to take aspartame. anyways have a blast. i really would liked this product a lot cause its less strong then rockstar the heart beat is less but it give me severe insomnia its 6 :20 am right now and im not feeling sleepy at all !recommend it for people that wanna stay awake a freaking long time and that want energy.OK its been like 36 hour i took it now and i have a huge crash of energy. this shit suck.. i noticed a ''buzz'' like if a took a very weak extasy when i took it. k so this shit garbage unless u want a buzz and u dont mind having a crash after the buzz. i recommend eat cereal, bread, vegetable, fruit, drink water, grain and sleep well if u looking for energy.

I was on a road trip yesterday. We got stuck in traffic, had a storm, had a wildfire on two sides of the freeway, etc. Needless to say we were way behind schedule and I was the only driver. I drank one. We finally reached our destination around 4 AM. I was exhausted as we had left at 9AM the day prior. However, I was still able to drive, not nodding off, etc. I drank it around 6-7PM.Plus- It works great, it is small, fast, easy. Minuses-taste!! I have tried several flavors and they all taste AWFUL! They are much better cold, but still taste nasty. Most stores do not sell them cold though.I like that I can shoot one down in a gulp or few. I am not a big fan of carbonated beverages, so to drink a canned soda type energy drink takes forever for me to down.I would not drink these on a daily basis, but for the occasional use, say all nighter for school, road trip, etc. They are great!PLEASE MAKE THEM TASTE BETTER~!
Joshw4288 07/12/2009
Let me go ahead and explain this product to all those who think of this as the new "Miracle Energy."The biggest argument in using 5 Hour is that it has only 4 calories. Calories=energy. This is the same concept of why we eat food which is calorie dense and provides energy. Specifically the quickest reacting calorie is carbohydrates which is why athletes are recommended to consume 60% or more a day of carbohydrates. 5 hour has 0 carbohydrates which = 0 energy. So lets talk about what IS in 5 Hour. For one you have the 8 oz coffee equivalent of caffeine. Well we all know that caffeine increases alertness. Every energy drink has this and so does coffee which happens to be a tons cheaper than 5 hour. Other ingredients include:Niacin-Coenzyme in carbohydrate/lipid metabolism. In other words it breaks down carbohydrates to be used as energy. Interesting enough, this is found in FOODB6-Coenzyme in amino acid (protein) metabolism. It breaks down protein to be used as energy. Guess what? This is also found in FOODB12-Coenzyme in blood formation and nervous system function. And again, if you eat food then your on track to consuming enough B12. Folic Acid-Coenzyme in amino acid metabolism. Also found in food. The final ingredients make up your "Energy Blend" of Taurine, Malic Acid, Glucuronlactone and a few others, non of which are energy providing nutrients. In fact Taurine is found in ALL energy drinks and there is not 1 single study which provides results that Taurine is a component of energy production. This is true for the rest of the above "Herbal Ingredients" as well. For all those who believe you are experiencing increased energy using this product. You ARE and your doing it for 3 times the cost that you could be by simply drinking an 8 oz of coffee. The only ingredient in 5 Hour that is providing "alertness" is caffeine. It is a shame that so many people out there fall for marketing schemes because of their own lack of knowledge in the field of nutrition. Hopefully this has provided some much needed information on what is actually in 5 Hour and what actually provides energy to the human body. Stop wasting your money for $3 Five Hour Energy products and go consume carbohydrates and a little added caffeine if need be and enjoy the energy providing benefits that food offers. You will even save money in the process.

i used to use cocaine and crank back in the day, and i stopped because the next day i would be angry and depressed( Sleep deprivation, HELLO ?) well, i recently tried 5 hour energy, and the after effects were even worse. The nights i drank it, it was a great energy boost, but the next day, i was so depressed i was like a zombie sitting on the couch and hating life, not to mention hands shaking and loss of appetite. also i am a musician, and the day after drinking this crap i had no desire to play or practice music. this shit should be illegal. No mas

Bottom line: It did nothing for me. It was a total waste of money.Tried this last month. I avoided my cup of morning coffee because I knew I'd try it early afternoon that day and didn't want to risk extra jitters.I have a normal low ebb about 2-3 in the afternoon most days, particularly after a stressful morning and a large lunch. I took this 1:30 to get me past, and come 2:30 I was just as exhausted as usual.I had to resort to my usual afternoon cup of coffee to perk me up and get me focused.
gqlefty 06/25/2009
My son had been using them so I thought I would give them a try. WOW !!!! It works!!! (for me) I am 59 and I can tell it does give me a boost. No weird after effects, does NOT make me feel wired and I dont want to kill myself or anything like that. I use them when I need that extra boost on those days when you feel sluggish and tired. They seem to last longer than 5 hrs. for me. Until there's proof of any harm I will continue to use them !!! Great product !! PS.......... for all you DA's out there.... Follow the directions and dont OD thinking, if one is good then 5 of them would be better.
ShawnElliott1 06/21/2009
I tried one of these for the first time three days ago and loved how it gave me just the right amount of energy for approx. (as advertised) 5 hours with no crash, The taste is fine- not sure why people think the taste is bad it has articial flavoring in it ... I do not recommend it though because of the side effect that I still have now three days after-- left eye spasm in and out throughout the day (I have never had this spasm before). I also felt like I really wanted another one the next day but didnt because I might become dependent on it. This is not a safe product, needs to be regulated ASAP! The risks seem to outweigh the benefits with this product- I recommend sticking to coffee instead.
theprodigy 06/17/2009
This stuff is awesome. I started taking them to help me get up in the morning to get a good workout in & it worked, run 6 miles when i take em then have an excellent workout. The only thing is if you take them everyday you'll get immune to them. Stopped taking them for about 2 months, started taking them again and same result. These things are excellent. better than those monster & red bull trash. And best of all there's no crash when they wear off. IF YOU STARTED FEELING SUICIDAL AFTER U TOOK THEM YOU WERE PROBABLY SUICIDAL BEFORE YOU TOOK THEM STUPID. And maybe instead of a 5 hour energy you need 5 hours of a therapist every day.
jack101 06/16/2009
awful! Drank one yesterday and immediately felt rushy. No doubt it gave me a buzz but the day after? having serious mental side effects, angry, depressed, actually having thoughts of suicide?!! acting very cranky towards my boyfriend and a deadly headache. So nice to be used as test rats for 5hour energy drink to perform there research on because believe you, me there is no way in hell that they are telling us what is really in it. and why the hell should they when there is no one regulating this crap? like usual the almighty dollar takes precedence over the safety and care of human beings. Fuck you 5hour energy drinks for selling out at the cost of innocent people.
joalice 06/07/2009
My husband (age 39) drank one or two bottles per day. I noticed how it made him very cranky, edgey and predictably irritable. Had energy to work out after work, but also had a fowl mood. When I asked him to stop drinking them, he insisted that they were not the cause of his moods. Ended up in a fit of rage and punched a door, broke his hand, and pinky. Now in a cast ; swears he will never drink these again, and is in a 100% better mood all the time. Monster drinks had the same effect on him by the way. If you have a family, kids etc. I would strongly advise just strong coffee or tea.
bigwillieb 05/30/2009
Ok, got off of work at 7:30am and I could not sleep all day long. So, I bought two bottles for my 12 hr shift at the hospital. I only had to use one! It kept me awake the full night, even when it was slow and I was the only one in the office for two hours! Now, at 1st I was talking a little fast but still it gave me 5 hrs of energy if not more.
harleystreetro d 05/18/2009
I first tried 5 hr on my way back from a white water rafting trip. After rafting through a 13.5 mile stretch it was time to drive back home and I was totally bushed. A few minutes into the drive I found myself falling asleep, my girlfriend totally freaked out and we pulled over at a gas station where she bought the 5 hr shot (berry flavor). I took the shot, and to be honest the awful taste was actually a pro coz it actually shook me up, we sat around for 15 minutes, and I can't say that I pumped with energy or anything like that, but I definitely wasn't sleepy anymore. We reached home safe, and I had no trouble falling asleep. I have used 5 hr in similar dire situations ever since!

I am a 19 year old teenage female , and I drank this crap for a little boost since I am lazy person and need energy. When I took this I was feeling tired, I had food before just to make sure it wouldn't react like medicine (upset stomach). I only took 1ounce a little more to one ounce. It was a little close to half the bottle. About 45mins later I began to feel a bit jittery, then I felt a rush of some weird feeling like when you take a over dose of medicine. Later I tried to calm down and tried to ignore it but later around 15 mins later of the 45 mins I felt like my blood pressure was rushing. So I decided to take my pulse it as around 77 per min. Then I felt dizzy and shortness of breath thats when I went out of the house and tried to breath fresh air but it didn't work. Then I decided to call my doctor no answer so I called 911, and I explained to them the symptoms and that I've drank the 5 hour energy drink. They told me to stay on the line and that they would come in a while. Later they were telling me that why at such a young age would I drink that. I told them I needed a boost. Later they told me that the ambulence would come and meet me, meanwhile I was calm and felt a little better but still shaking. They told me to eat something or drink water. Later they came and took me in the ambulance and asked me all these medical questions and that it was my decision to either go to the hospital and get checked up or to just go home. The reason to this was that everything, my blood pressure was fine and I was feeling a little better. So I went to the hospital they took my pressure, temperature, blood sample, and made me wait everything was normal. At around 5pm from 2pm I started to feel better. In the end I ended up leaving at 9pm and still no doctor attended me. Of course I was feeling much better after 5 hours. When I got home again I started to have breathing problems but I calmed my self and around 11:30 I felt fine. I think 5 hour energy it not suited for every one I'm just gonna have to stick with Herbalife lift up energy dissolving tablet and raisins.

The taste of the drink was probably the minor thing about this drink.WARNING!! If you are considering drinking it. think twice. My husband gave me one, on mother's day, I had a horrible headache for the rest of the day, I felt so tired and down, had nausea, and felt dizzy too, rashes all over me, itching all over, felt like I had a fever, and two days later still have the rashes, itching, and now woke up with my fingers and toes numb. the upper part of my stomach also felt like sore. I am a very healthy person, never had any reaction to any medication or foods, this is the first thing that gave me this kind of problems. Be careful what you put in your body, JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE SAYS IT IS SAFE, IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT IS TRUTH. All I can say, if I did this to me, a completely healthy person, it could problaby kill someone with a health condition, especially if taken more than recommended.

It is, literally, the only "Energy Supplement" that has ever worked for me. I've been using it as needed since it first came out and was only sold on their site.If you are a "caffeine buzz junkie" this will not be the drink for you. You won't feel buzzed or go 'up' and then 'down.' It's entirely different than things like Red Bull or Rockstar. There are days that I cannot function without this due to Fibro or Insomnia. It is the difference for me between "fuzzy, tired, incapable of focusing &/or getting moving" and "tired but awake, capable of focus, moving and energetic." It doesn't remove the effects of sleep loss or age - but it temporarily makes it so that you can function as if you were 10 years younger or had 10 hrs of sleep.Caveats: the massive dose of B vitamins can have side-effects if used consistently or too often. Drink a lot of water when using to offset B-vitamin toxicity. Can cause insomnia if taken too late in the day. There is no 'crash' - but it isn't for long-term use.I hope it works as well for you as it does for me - as you can see by the ratings here? It's either a miracle or a dud. Most people who rate it 1 star are looking for 'caffeine jolt' - you will not feel that with this.

I agree the berry flavor is horrible tasting. The lemon is a little better, but the best tasting is the orange flavor. I tried drinking berry straight from the bottle and couldn't. I had to mix it with my Gatorade and it was fine. The lemon is a little harsh but I can drink in from the bottle but the orange is really smooth and goes down fine. Also I was reading a review on here that said 5 hour has Aspartane in it? I used to drink sugar free Red Bulls until I found out it has Aspartane in it. It also gave me headaches. But as far as I know by reading the ingredents lable 5 hour doen't have Aspartane in it, that's why I switched. I would recomend 5 hour, it works great for me. Also if you say 5 hour doen't do anything for you, try the extra strength one. I had to mix it with my sport drink because it only come in berry flavor, but it works really good. To jittery for me though.

I used to work telemarketing and caffeine was constantly flowing through my veins between Starbucks and Red Bull. When I heard this was caffeine-free, I went ot and bought a couple. This doesn't work for me. I hardly felt a buzz at all.

I'm a server @ the Baltimore Inner Harbor and I picked this product up at 711. To my surprise I not only had a lot more energy that not only didn't make me jittery, but also made me so focused that I didn't really have to write down most of my tables orders, which I almost always have to do. I'd suggest you try it, all my friends swear by it.

I have to say that this is a well-though out energy supplement. I researched the active ingredients thru wikipedia, and they all have good effects. It had loads of beneficial amino acids as well as 83 days worth of B vitamins as opposed to a mere 2 days worth found in an average energy drink. I have about 20 of them, they were on sale for 1 dollar each, and I took them every morning for my schools exam week. I wake up in intervals, so I woke up at 5 in morning (I normally get up at 7) and I drank the entire bottle. (It was the Extra Strength type, meaning it has more of the energy blend).I drifted back into sleep, then felt energetic in my half-asleep state, showing that this is definitely NOT a placebo effect!I woke up studied, did my exams, and even made it through sports practice with no crash, despite that fact I missed 2 hours of sleep.I did this for 4 more days, and on the last day I didn't take a shot in the morning. I had a headache at about 12 in the morning, and then sat down and took a nap. (The nap was about 40 minutes). I think that was the crash, the type you get when you have coffee for a few weeks and then stop. I felt fine next day, but I felt lousy coming down from my energetic state.Problems I have with this product:No herbal ingredients- Milk Thistle and Ginseng would be nice to have in it.Fake Sugars- Sure, it's only 2 ounces, but I'd rather have real sugar than splendaArtificial Flavors- They should use pomegranate extract, it has beneficial effects and a good flavorPreservatives- Once again, just 2 ounces, but they shouldn't add nitrate perservatives. It COULD have a more diverse range of vitamins. Not A big deal, but I wish it did. They stopped using enzymes- I think the enzymes would help in absorptionExpensive!- 3 dollars? You should make the improvements I listed, then I would pay 3 dollars for this. I compared the energy supplements at a convenience store counter, and THIS one is the best for your money. No Hi Fructose Corn Syrup, also a huge plus.Try it, and maybe use it. It improved my mile time by 10 seconds, I forgot to mention.
