 | Tiffany1986 (32) 01/23/2006 | I went and saw this movie in the theater and thought it was really good. The plotline is really fun and even though it was filled with...well...corpses and skeletons, it wasn't scary or too intense for kids. The animation was good and there were some pretty funny parts throughout the movie.

 | BlueOrchid (41) 12/14/2005 | Burton has always done a fine job but nothing particularly amazed me during this movie. However, I highly enjoyed the part with the raven squeezing out the egg.
I got my college nickname from this movie because I share the same name as the Corpse Bride. lol.

 | Wolves_R_Cool (0) 10/19/2005 | A pretty interesting film from Tim Burton. It has a gothic feel to it,but nothing too scary for kids. I liked how the visuals looked. The story is about a young man named Victor, who is arranged to marry a yong woman named Victoria. On the day of the rehersal, he runs off into the woods and puts his ring on what looks like a branch. it turns out tobe a hand of a dead woman. soon, he discovers he married th corpse bride (Emily). There is too much information, but I thought it was a fun little story. The kids will like it and so will some adults.

 | alpepper (21) 10/11/2005 | Far superior to Nightmare Before Christmas (which I thought plain stunk). Corpse Bride is based on an old Russian fable and is visually refreshing, funny at parts, and a good way to fritter away a few hours. Though it focuses on the macabre, there was nothing particularly graphic or objectional for my children. If you like Burton, you'll definitely like this.

 | Molfan (57) 10/11/2005 | Well done claymation movie. Tim Burton did a fine job creating this interesting movie. If anyone knows his work, you can really see this is a Tim Burton movie. Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Emily Watson are among the actors who provide voices. Johnny is a groom to be who is arranged to ve married to a woman named Victoria. after a mishap he is walking through the woods with a wedding ring and places in on what he thinks is a branch in the ground. It is a finger of a corpse. she rises from the ground believing she has been proposed to.He ends up down under the earth with all the other eerie corpses. He has to find a way to get our find Victoria , etc. will not tell, everyting that happens. it has it's good guys and villans. Nice story, good sight gags and references to other movies.

 | kamylienne (77) 09/25/2005 | SYNOPSIS: In another corner of Burton's monochromatic-yet-colorful world, an arranged marriage is about to take place. The nervous, clumsy young man, before he knows what hit him, accidentally takes his vows to a young bride. Too bad she's dead.
PROS: Well, as usual, Burton's unique animation style is excellent, and Elfman's music is great . . .
CONS: . . . but it was nothing out of the ordinary for them, either.
THE IN-BETWEEN: The story was enjoyable; very simple, and cute. There was nothing special about it, though; between the "Once Upon A Time" and "The End", there was nothing really anything unexpected or surprising outside a predictable fairy tale. Not to say it wasn't nice . . . it was just kind of there. It was kind of as if "Corpse Bride"* were done just for the sake of being done, rather than to bring anything new to the table. Not a bad thing, per se, but a little disappointing.
VERDICT: Great for kids, and okay for adults.

 | tongs (0) 09/24/2005 | Went to the premeir, and in all honesty, I walked out.
I left feeling disappointed and quite embarrassed. I love The Nightmare Before Christmas, and am a Tim Burton fan, but The Corpse Bride, heh, it was almost as if Tim was justing showing off.
I give this a rating of 4 because the animation was absolutely flawless, smooth and amazing. The only thing that drew this movie down, was the story. Danny Elfman too, I was expecting much better from him. : (
sorry guys.
