Tarantino's best film, with an excellent cast. The coffee shop conversation that opens the movie is one of the best bits of extended dialogue in recent film history.

Very close to being a great ensemble. . .but let's stick to 'very good'. . .Nice Guy Eddie was my fave. . .

Old 1940s tough guy Lawrence Tierney, the often overlooked Chris Penn, twitchy Steve Buscemi, real ex-con Eddie Bunker, Englishman Tim Roth, and the voice of Steven Wright. Who would have thought this would work? But it does. Seemlessly. Dead-on casting and a great group effort.

My favorite Tarantino film. He got quality performances out of Keitel, Roth, Madsen etc. What was particularly enjoyable about this film is that it felt like you were in a theater watching a play rather than in a movie house viewing a feature. Everyone appeared to advantage in this contemporary classic.
