Wenceslas was a real King of Bohemia who was very holy and saintly. The Christmas Carol speaks of the king doing good deeds on the Feast of St. Stephen, the first martyr, whose feast day is December 26. If that's "paganism," I plead guilty. I like King Wenceslas. He was a great and beneficient who started the civilization process in Central Europe.
