great coach with alot of knowledge of the game....knows how to run his opponents.....and the master of zone defense. gave kentucky 1 of their 7 championships. certainly not Joe B. Hall or Adolph Rupp but still a great coach.

good coach but he had to crawl back to the state of kentucky when he royally messed up in the nba. highly doubt he will ever experience the success at uk.(quoted as saying leaving uk was the worst mistake of his career)

Pitino is a good college coach that proved (along with others) that it doesn't make you a good NBA coach. He is really the first college coach to exploit a game plan centered around the three point line. Innovative, high energy and good with players, still has coaching game in him at louisville.

Cocky guy, I must say.

Was great in his day with Providence and Kentucky - authored the frenetic up tempo, spread the court, and bomb the three style that is so much fun to watch. As far as the reviewer who says his days are over... maybe you missed the tournament this year? Pitino brought a four seed to the final four. Still a young guy - I think he's 52? He'll be heard from again.

Great coach at Kentucky, loved his full court pressure. He got too excited when he was offered a job with the celtics, which i think diminished his career as a great college coach. He's doing a nice job in louisville now.

Sorry, Rick, but I just saw that you were #1 ahead of The Dean and Wooden, and that my friend is funnier than watching 'Reno 911' on acid.
