 | kb86 (0) 07/15/2008 | Obama is the real deal, he may be part of the "minority", but why should that stop people from electing a person who wants good in the world, bit by bit, peice by peice. He doesn't beleive in solving things with the barrel of a gun. But if war is a must, even Obama said he would put to use the great u.s military and step up, at a time when it's needed. Plus, he actually helps out in times of turmoil, i even saw him digging with a shovel helping out after a natural disaster, all ego aside. He's a humble guy and he wants good for the people, vote Obama

Surprise, surprise!!! Angry white folks ain't gonna vote for Barrack!
UPDATE:
Obama's not all that great, but McSame promises to expand upon the Bush nightmare, so there's no other choice (assuming there's not an August Surprise in the works).
UPDATE:
Contrary to predictions by Chicken Little, the sky won't fall if McSAME's not Selected.

 | lmorovan (12) 07/09/2008 | Should he win, I guess he will be even worse than Carter, especially with his surrender policy which will make the Iran hostage story a drop in the ocean, and make America the laughing joke of the whole world. Brainwashing the American people by the liberal media will not make balls grow where there are none. Just because the rest of the world has surrendered to terrorism, doesn't mean we have to do likewise. Together we stand, divided we fall. And Obama tends to the new, revolutionary policy of surrender. God save America, because with Obama, we are doomed.

Overall he is another political lightweight who is attractive, articulate, and has little to say other than the standard platitudes. That being said, considering John McCain as the other choice I might have to vote for Barack. He reminds me of another promising but flawed Democrat that I dearly loved, John F. Kennedy. If Barack ends up as our President it will be an interesting first term. If McCain is president, we will most likely have another four or eight years in Iraq.

Or rather he makes radicals his friend. He doesn't put his hand over his heart for the National Anthem, yet suggested we change the National Anthem to "I'd like to buy the world a coke". A very good orator and has ran a very good campaign, but I have a problem with a man who is left of Ted Kennedy and to the left of John Kerry.
More government control, more expensive social programs, more tax payer dollars going to the U.N., more restrictions on gun owners, more bogus environmental laws that will keep us dependent on foreign oil, we will begin drifting closer and closer to International Law and the loss of our sovernity, higher taxes, probably will see expanded affirmative action and racial quotas and college preferences for minorities and you can believe much more hate speech and hate crime laws! This will not be good for our nation.

 | slocke (1) 03/26/2008 | Obama has no experience. I think that people are sooo set on getting a Democrat in office that it does not matter that neither of the candidates are worth a crap. We are all going to die if either gets elected. This country will fall directly on its face. Do any of you seriously think that they are going to do ANYTHING they try to say they are going to do? HAHAHAHAHA. Give me a break. That is a TOTAL joke and everyone knows it. I wish that people would look at what these people stand for (truely) not just what they are saying they stand for because all that is is them saying what they think everyone wants to hear. WHY IN THE HECK WOULD YOU WANT BILL CLINTON BACK IN THE WHITE HOUSE. He disgraced our entire country and disrespected the presidency and all of us that believed in him. Why should a woman that stood behind the man that did that be the person to LEAD this country. So they can make a mockery out of all of us again???? You may not like George Bush but there is one thing you have to say about him, He is a GOD fearing man and he does not SWAY from what he believes. He stands strong. People come on. get serious and get a clue. I know that Americans are not as stupid as we ae seeming right now. The other countries around the world are sitting back waiting for this election. When it is over USA will no longer be the most powerful country. Think about it guys. Socialized Healthcare???????????? PLEASE. Reearch what this has done to other countries. If you have money you will get good healthcare, if you don't then wait in line. REAL FAIR??? Look at what kind of experience Hilary and Obama have, This is not a game to get one party or the other elected. At this point and time people need to be smarter than that and look at the people themselves and not the party they are with. The crap that Hilary and Obama are putting out there for everyone to see only shows their desperation. This isn't about America or Americans any more for them its all about the victory. Then when one of them gets in the White House it will be all of us Americans who suffer!!!. I am not Republican nor Democrat. I believe in going with the best person fo the job. I am not sure we have anyone to choose from this time. SHAME on us for allowing this to happen.

I do indeed like his politics and the way he carries himself far more then I like Clinton. He seems like a good leader, with the right personality to be president. Whether I feel the USA is ready for a black president is not my issue with him, it is entriely based on his politics, and ideology. If I were to see any Democrat get elected president I would like it to be Obama. I feel like he has ran a firm, and fair campaign. Obama will probably lose the presidental bid against McCain, and I will be happy to see that happen. I do indeed give Barack credit on a personal level, he is an excellent talker, and he was realy funny on Letterman the one time I saw him. Maybe once he loses his campaign he can become an actor, and when that doesn't happen expect to see him running for president for years to come.

 | sdlizard (0) 02/20/2008 | Obama is all show and lip-service. He'll say what everyone wants to hear just to get where he wants to go. We already know what Clinton is all about...no surprises. Unfortunately, the voting age starts at 18 and, though he may be getting them to vote, it's actually hurting it for the rest of us. Eighteen year olds are generally not mature enough to really read between the lines and only see and hear what he wants them to. They're going to push him into the primary and that's scary. And I'm ashamed to say that the women's vote is doing the same. It's sad that he has so many people so snowed.

 | James76255 (17) 02/18/2008 | Original 2-8-08: When it gets down to it, Obama isn't saying anything new, he's just finding a new way to say it. His socialist health care policy really isn't any different than Clinton's, and she couldn't even sell her ideas to Democrats 16 years ago. His Iraq policy isn't any different than the average Liberal Democrat either. Even part of his coming out party speech at the DNC in '04 was essentially a rehash of someone elses speech. He talked about how we shouldn't have a black America and a white America and a brown America, etc. Sounded exactly like what Pat Buchanan said about hyphenated Americans years earlier. Buchanan's speech was marked racist, Obama's marked him a rock star. Speaking of which, I keep expecting Randy, Paula, and Simon to pop up on screen and make comments after every speech. We're not selecting an American Idol here folks, it's an American president. Other than that, he just keeps talking about change. From what I can see of his extreme left stance on the issues and his horrible voting record, I don't need or want that kind of change.
Update 2-18-08: Now he's using Deval Patrick's words, taking lines from the governor's campaign a year and a half ago. It's bad enough that he's packaged and sold, and that people are buying it, but it's used goods.

The Clinton Machine managed to change him from the cross-racial fresh new face from the Iowa Caucuses to the Black Candidate after Nevada.
The Clintons have convinced White America that Obama IS the Black Candidate. The Black vote will probably put Obama over the top in South Carolina, but after that he becomes just another Jesse Jackson who is able to win African-Americans and little else.
I still think that the Clintons will make him the Vice President nominee no matter how much they hate him or he hates them!

I have been watching the debates and I find it very interesting that nearly everytime he answers after another canidate he agrees with them. If he agrees with them, and they are all for change, why shoudl we vote for him. He wants to recruit math and science teachers to help the schools. I see many of the other teachers losing their jobs and not becoming as important. If he is so concerned about health care, than why not promote health and PE courses in school. When properly done, the classes will support the rest of the curriculum and raise test scores, as well as help students become more healthy - lowering health care costs. He has little experience and although he says he is for the middle man and getting us out of Iraq, he is giving the breaks to coporations and sending troops elsewhere. The only thing he can bring to America is change for the worse!

 | ThatOnePerson (4) 12/09/2007 | Apart from the fact that this man is clearly a socialist/communist, there is also the problems with his actions, like everyone but Paul, of not telling us exactly (i.e. Not abstractly) what he wants to do. I went to one of his rallies and he claimed to support what sounded like a draft only he didn't mention the part aboot going to war (a peaceful draft where we all walk around and clean curtains and mop floors until, of course, a neocon comes into power and sends us to the Front). The other problems i have with him other than his hatred of freedom include: his supporters (you are not a hippies and this is not the sixties. They are all a bunch of racists who tell us how bad we are for being white), his fear of us knowing what he will want to do, and his disdain for the protection of life. You may say “but he is an African American and that means he is better than everyone else LOL!1!!!” good for you, idiot. Man i bet there will be some flaming posts for this one.

 | SilverFox (26) 08/27/2007 | UPDATE: Forgot to add that Obama was a lecturer of constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1993 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004. During the 2004 election for U.S. Senate, Obama won the endorsement of the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police and cited his "willingness to negotiate compromises." He has written "we should be asking ourselves what mix of policies will lead to a dynamic free market and widespread economic security, entrepreneurial innovation and upward mobility [...] we should be guided by what works." As an early opponent of the Iraq invasion, he said "I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of al-Qaeda. I am not opposed to all wars. I'm opposed to dumb wars. You want a fight, President Bush? Let's finish the fight with Bin Laden and al-Qaeda, through effective, coordinated intelligence, and a shutting down of the financial networks that support terrorism, and a homeland security program that involves more than color-coded warnings." How about that one, folks, for being prescient and discerning? I told you the guy has brilliant analytical skills. I think he would repair our relationships with other countries. For his impressive accomplishments since he's been in the Senate, see Wikipedia, Barack Obama.
ORIGINAL COMMENT: For starters, Barack Obama (who, by the way, is a Jr., named after his father, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr.) has impressive educational credentials. B.A. from Columbia, where he majored in political science with a specialization in international relations. Harvard law school, where he graduated magna cum laude. What's arguably the best law school in the nation?--Harvard. What's the highest honor one can achieve in law school?--not only to make the law review, but be elected editor-in-chief. And he was, the first black ever to do so. He's a very analytical guy. If you've ever heard him speak, he frequently speaks about both sides of an issue, unlike most people, especially not politicians. He thinks things through. He's not by any means a typical pol. He sincerely believes in cooperating with the other party; for that reason, and as just one example, he believes in changing the current methods of drawing up legislative districts, which presently are gerrymandered and results in a primary election that's a sure and easy victory for whatever party the gerrymandered district has 70% of, and in which a primary isn't a fair election at all. Start by reading his book, The Audacity of Hope. Try to catch a tape of his 11/18/2006 interview with Tim Russert, or his interview with Oprah. What stands out to me is the man's character and morality, way beyond that of any other candidate from either party. I trust him. Hillary is tainted with the Rose Law Firm subpoenaed-records fiasco, Whitewater, and some other slippery stuff, whether justifiably or not. Obama strikes me as a guy who would never stoop to dishonesty of any sort. Whether he needs more seasoning and executive experience is an issue many other reviewers have already addressed. So whether his time is now or later, keep your eye on him. He deserves the rave reviews he's been getting--a very impressive man.

He was optimistic and upbeat which is a much needed change since the Democratic party has become the party of doom and gloom. But sadly, as the spotlight has been put upon him, his optimism has gone by the wayside and now he just tows the party line. He's not experienced enough to earn the presidency in 2008 and even though he can still give a good speech, people should not mistake charisma for leadership.

 | CastleBee (81) 05/27/2007 | The more I see him the more impressed with himself he seems. I had to laugh the other day when Dennis Miller said Obama tends to talk until he has something to say. There's enough truth in that to, at best, be off putting and, at worst, smack of an up and coming blow hard. Which may only mean that he is officially part of the functioning political world.

If money didn't matter in the political process, if it were all about leadership, ir the Democratic Leadership Committee would do the world a favor and devour itself tomorrow morning, this man would be the Democratic Party's nominee in 2008 and our nation's next President. Although I'm honestly not sure the job will even be worth having - once the GOP is finished "restoring credibility to the Oval Office".

 | Conservatism (5) 03/06/2007 | I could not support someone who is for gay marriage and abortion, I will say that I would prefer him over Hillary. I think he has a lot of potential as a senator or as some other political figure but not president.

 | abichara (60) 02/19/2007 | I'm intrigued by all the public attention Barack Obama has received, especially as a national candidate. Indeed, he's very bright and articulate, but give time its time. He's only been in the Senate for 2 years, and before that, he was in the State Senate in Illinois, and he wasnt even in a leadership position in that body. He hasnt managed a large state, nor has he served in statewide office for a significant amount of time, that is, more than one term in the Senate. Obama doesn't have any experience running a major national campaign either. In order to judge how a candidate will perform as President, you have to see how he has performed in the past. In the case of Obama, we dont have much to judge him on. Thats somewhat troubling, considering that hes being touted as a major candidate for President at a rather critical juncture in our countries history.
The national media is building him up, creating high expectations that he might not be able to meet at this stage in his career. Right now, the ball is on his side. Most polls show him at second place behind Hillary Clinton for the nomination. If any nominee develops as "the anybody but Hillary" candidate, it might just be him. He's interesting, has a new message that goes beyond the current ideological battles that have defined Washington since Bill Clinton's time in office, and he speaks authoritatively on a wide range of issues.
But do we want another President who's learning on the job? Obama has a lot of potential, and my money is on him to be a major Presidential candidate at some point in the future, but at this point in time, we can't afford to have another President without a wide range of political experience. The Democratic field has a few candidates that can serve ably: Joe Biden, Bill Richardson, and Christopher Dodd are all qualified. Hillary Clinton and John Edwards, the other two front runners along with Obama, are less so. Both the GOP and the Democrats should put up substantive candidates that know what theyre doing, that carry with them more than just an ideological agenda.

 | Loerke (46) 02/05/2007 | So, as you say, we know next to nothing about his politics, Victor, but you can still call him "Osama." I'm glad you can see so deeply into his character. Indeed, it's as though Obama had picked the name he was born with. Wow. That must be why your name is Victor. Yup, Vick the Hick.

 | Victor83 (35) 02/05/2007 | Osama...oops, I mean Obama is just another in a line of communist left wingers from the Democrat Party. Very little is known about him- other than hte fact that his voting record is to the left of Hilary Clinton (something I thought to be impossible), and that the media are in love with him. The fact that he could be taken seriously-even on a temporary basis- is testament to the sad state this country is in.
