Simply magnificent.
The acting is so good one can almost watch it without sound and still grasp the essence of the tale.

This is one of the best films I have seen. Jack Lemmon, he was just wonderful.

It is somewhat dated, but a must-see for any film fan. . .a flawless production.

I have seen this movie dozen of times. To me this is the best ensemble ever. Every face tells a story, they don't need words. I am awed by this movie everytime, there are no effects, the setting is as plain as can be. The way they act, and react, is just unsurpassed.

I can watch this one over and over again. The dynamics are fascinatingly real - the liberals letting themselves get pushed around until they're a little more clear on the facts, then they stand their ground. Seems to happen that way in real life politics all the time.

A perfect vehicle for a classic ensemble. Sydney Lumet took few liberties with what originally had been not a stage piece but, rather, written directly for television by Reginald Rose. The subtle camera use upon perfectly primed actors, from George Voskovec, Jack Klugman, Maryin Balsam, E. G. Marshall, Robert Webber, Ed Begley and Jack Warden, etc., to Lee J. Cobb and Henry Fonda in the leads.
