 | alanlattke (0) 01/05/2008 | While new restos are popping up in this chain, the food is "food service" level which means things are reheated from bulk packaging that is purchased from large providers like Sysco. Service is usually sub-par. IHOP is a better option.

 | oscargamblesfro (81) 12/01/2006 | Pretty good ice cream, but essentially this is almost like Steak & Shake East, as this chain is apparently indigenous to the Northeast, and the further north you go, the more prevalent they become, peaking in say eastern Mass before petering out...

 | BlessedBeSiamese (6) 08/22/2006 | We used to have 2, now we have 0. The food and service not good, but that is more of a staffing issue than anything, and the sundaes are pretty decent.

 | witchitamarcel (0) 09/29/2005 | I eat at the friendlys in Camillus NY, once in a while, it has really good food, and even better icecreame, I think there service sucks, but the biggest problem is they need to make it more of an eye catcher, tear it down and build it up make it look like an applebees

 | texasyankee (22) 05/22/2005 | I used to like this restaurant in New York. It wasn't the best restaurant in the world, no but it was nice after I took my kids shopping or to a movie to go here sit down for a little while and order some food and ice cream. Always dependable, and the ice cream was really good stuff.

 | opinion585 (0) 11/11/2004 | Friendly's is great!!!! It is sort of like a sit-down darry queen. Their ice cream is some of the best i have ever had, and all of there chicken dishes and their burgers are deliciouse and are reasonably priced. THEY DON'T HAVE ANY IN THE SOUTH!!!! Friendly's is one of many things that are making me look forward to getting back to new york

 | Mr.Political (20) 09/01/2004 | I have heard a lot of bad things about Friendly's especially in regards to customer service. But the Friendly's in my state are all great. The service is terrific and the waiters are friendly (no pun intended). The shakes and ice cream are the best bar none. But the food isn't too great. Often the fires and burgers are cold and that goes for many other dishes as well.

 | Redoedo (41) 08/22/2004 | Friendly's quality has seemed to dwindle over the past few years, but not because of their food. Their food is still good (especially Mozzeralla sticks and chicken strips), and their ice cream is great as well. However, service is what this restraunt lacks. Hire more qualified and attentive servers! UPDATE: The quality of this place countines to go downhill. They've jacked the prices up and the food is barely edible. Considering that this used to be one of my favorite places to go as a kid, it's quite a shame.

 | Flick01 (72) 06/20/2004 | I have experienced very poor service in every Friendlys regardless of the location. After observing the help for a while I came to the conclusion that the system that they use asks too much of the staff. The waiters and waitresses are always busy and running around yet the service is rotten. If they would let the waiters and waitresses do their job and not 50 other miscellaneous things the service would improve significantly.

 | minkey (40) 03/09/2004 | A nice family-oriented restaurant. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing dinner then this place is not for you. Kids beg for this place because of the desserts. However I have found that the menu has improved in recent years and the prices are very reasonable.

 | itchycoo (0) 12/29/2003 | Terrible service. I had one in my old hometown that was molasses-in-January slow. Tried another location after I moved upstate...different locale, same bad service. And the food ain't that great.

 | madonnafreak (0) 12/20/2003 | I have been an employee for Friendly's for about 1 1/2 years. I was planning on staying with company for a long time to come. In the year and half that I have been there, I have seen 3 different general managers brought in. The turn over is horrible. Recently, I gave my two weeks notice due to a supervisor who I could not get along with, sexual misconduct, and I simply could not stand be our new general manager's moral practices. five days later I was fired due to insubordination/slander of the general manager to crew. What is this all about? They are really trying to stick it to me good with no validility of these accusations. They aren't even true. They are just mad that I previously filed a complaint and that I gave my two weeks notice. I am at this time seeking legal action for false reasons upon termination. I have 3 freakin days left! hello????? something isn't right with this picture. They treat us horrible. It's their loss. I was one of the many best damn servers there were there and they are chosing to get rid of the many talented individuals in this exeter, nh store in order to keep the people that the general manager brought along with her. She's really cleaning house, but not the right way. She's even tried and still continues to get rid of our assistant who has been with friendly's for 21 years!!!! She even got written up for the most stupidist reason. In the 21 years she has been there, she has never been written up. Something is seriously wrong with this picture!!!! I agree most friendly's restaurants, the service is so poor. I know, I use to be a guest and happened to be looking for a new job and I said, this restaurant is in desperate need of some serious damn good servers. So I became one of them and do my job whole heartedly. I get so many compliments and a lot of my regulars are so sad to see me go and have made the comment that they will not be back as I gave them the best service ever. Friendly's lost big time.

 | ClassicTVFan47 (38) 11/29/2003 | Can you believe it? A sit-down restaurant that I actually enjoy! Alright, so its not quite up to Chick-Fil-A-par, but its still very good, nonetheless. The food there is excellent, with awesome chicken fingers, great fries, and well-done fountain drinks. The service is some of the best I've experienced in a slow-food restaurant, quick and (yes, you guessed it!) friendly. And, unlike some clastrophobic places such as Ruby Tuesday's, the place is actually well-lit and HAS WINDOWS! The prices are a bit high, but for the amount and quality of the food and service, its worth it! Recommended!

 | sperryc (30) 05/29/2003 | You know a restaurant is your hands-down favorite when it's the first one to pop in your mind whenever someone wants to eat out. Friendly's has never let me down. I could eat there 3 meals a day - no exaggeration. They're omelette's are big and delicious, their turkey clubs should win some kind of award, and their steaks beat the Outback's with a spiked bat. And to top it all off, they sell Cyclones for dessert. When I'm rich and famous there will be a Friendly's in my basement.

 | mikeholly93 (11) 05/27/2003 | great ice cream and delicious burgers and fries! Their ice cream is some of the best ever produced by a chain and it ranks up with Dairy Queen! Unfortunately, most of the Friendly's have closed in my area.

 | kamylienne (80) 05/13/2003 | They're great when they're not busy. I think the waiters/waitresses get a lot of undue crap from customers (I swear I overheard someone complain that their ice cream was too cold and had it sent back three times). The food's alright, I love the chicken soup, great ice cream. Very reasonable prices. This is a restaurant that definately varies with each individual restaurant.

 | RebelYell1861 (10) 05/05/2003 | I've eaten here once my whole life; in fact I've only seen this place once my whole life. I ate at the one in Orlando and the service was fine, but the food was laughable. I would have rather layed on my hotel room floor eating a PB & J sandwhich....mmmm.

 | princessangry (2) 12/17/2001 | this place is pretty good, I havent ate there in a very long time, but I might as well review it while I still remember that last exeprince, here I go! ok, the atmo-sphere was ok,a tad crowded and it was lunch-time. anywho, the lunch choices could have been better and I had to resort to getting a chicken fingers dinner because the location I was at only had limited much coices and it mas mostly of soups, salads and smaller things and the hambugers were underdone and cold (this is the only thing I remeber form the visit before this) so I got some chicken fingers that costed around 7 buckaroos. not bad for 6 chicken fingers and a lot of fries. they tasted good but they were kinda fake tasting. I tried some of my sis's grilled cheese sandwich (3 buckaroos)and it was too muchy and cold. I had to wash it down with a nice cold glass of coke. they did'nt have the dew so I got coke, because the mellow yellow stuff at these places is really thin and tasted nothing liek mountain dew, so coke wasmy choice., the whole thing ended up at round $30 for 5, kinda steep for just lunch. oh well, I kina liked it but it could be better, not much competion as ryans or USA Steaks.

 | H C B BAGGINS (0) 06/09/2001 | I have only been to 2 of thier restaurants. Dover, DE which was great and Rehoboth Beach, DE which was hell. In the Dover Friendly's everything was perfect, good food and good service. Rehoboth on the other hand was horrible they were out of half of the stuff on the menu and what I did order was wrong and took forever. My best friend and I had to wait 27 minutes for the waitress to take our drink order.

 | starlet (0) 04/17/2001 | Friendly's biggest problem is their service. Every Friendly's I have visited has had staff problems. Your order takes forever. Drinks are not refilled. Otherwise, the food and the ice cream are adequate.

 | callmetootie (5) 04/06/2001 | Friendly's makes great breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Start out with a nice big stack of pancakes and sausage links. Then have a nice tall double decker BLT sandwich for lunch. Then chow down on baby back ribs and coleslaw for dinner.

 | Al-Davis-Lives! (0) 12/03/2000 | Poor Friendly's. I stopped there recently - looking to regain a piece of my childhood. What a disappointment. First off, the place was filthy. Not just the-floor-wasn't-clean dirty - I mean really, really dirty. But beyond that, the waitress was SLOW, wrote my ice cream order down wrong - and took forever getting my check. All in all, a sad little experience. And the ice cream wasn't very good. How do they manage to hang on?

 | Ruby (16) 09/11/2000 | I have good memories of Friendly's from my youth, and a recent experience in Albany, NY, affirmed my good feelings. Had a real good burger and then scarfed down a Jim Dandy sundae -- wow, is that great! The only problem was the very long wait for the check at the end (and I don't think that's an isolated incident, even back in the day the Friendly's staff weren't the most motivated characters...).

 | PoorOldEdgarDerby (4) 08/15/2000 | Poor Friendly's just ain't what it used to be. It's one of those forgotten restaurants of my childhood. A place we used to look forward to going to and they have just slowly taken themselves out of the picture (or been squeezed out by competitors) and haven't kept up. It's one thing to not keep up the restaurants and get stuck in a decorative era (which they did but have started to change finally) but it's another to have the food and service fall of the map. I probably haven't been to Friendly's more than 3 times in the last 4 years and all three of them have been different Friendly's over the last 6 months and each and every one of them had terrible service, long waits just to get a sundae while there were few people in the place. It was so bad my girlfriend was getting worked up and filled out a card, which I should add is such an unsatifying form of complaining (very unfullfilling), and we seriously almost walked out of the place. If it wasn't for nostalgia and their ice cream these guys wouldn't even exist anymore and it's doubtful I'll give them another chance even for that.
