The following was a reponse from "Dmma" to my email posted on 06/19/2008: "It is obvious that you aren't so holy or you wouldn't be writing about things you don't know about. Pastor Cherry is on a salary, he tithes more than 10% and the church has an independent audit each year by a firm located in Atlanta and California. Pastor Cherry was a successful business man before becoming a pastor and has taught thousands on how to be successful too. Not only through the Word of God, but in real life as well. Don't hate b/c he is a good teacher and successful preacher. It is truly evident that you do not know what you are talking about. Stop spreading gossip. It's a sin!" My response to Dmma: I have already sent a response to "Dmma" via email through another tool in this website. But, I do want to say this to "Dmma": I do know the firm that performs the annual audit for From the Heart Church Ministries and it is hard to be completely biased when you are friends and members of the church that your firm audits. Episcopal Pastor/Dr. John Cherry will tell the members of his church things that are not true. That is plain and simple. Dmma, it is not gossip it is truth. There is a difference. As somebody that has worked at Mr. Cherry's home I would like to know how much of his church's money he's used to purchase his jet, helicopter, regulation basketball court and tennis court at his home, his 1/4 mile long brick paver driveway, his rv and all his other material garbage. I have plenty of dirt on good ole Pastor Cherry so keep on believing in his two faced garbage you tools.

I remember being in the choir and going to church one sunday and seeing Cherry put a LOST of churches on BLAST on national television talking about each and every one individually. now THAT was completely uncalled for. Now since he wants to put people on blast I'm going to give him HIS review. John Cherry purchased an elementary school and asked for permits to build a gymnasium. He did just that. He built a gym/15k seat sanctuary and the person who gave him the permit lost their job. I met her and she is now a VERY upset and angry realtor who tells everyone she knows about him. His fraudulent furniture business he used to have is another story but I won't talk about that. He didn't claim to be a christian then. A few years ago his niece was my assistant in gospel concert producing, had issues and I believe she was 20 or 21 at the time and ran away to stay with my family who put her off on me and since we were very close I let her stay wit hme for 2 weeks. Her family called hanging up on me, trashing me and all when I did what christ would do which is NOT to turn her away. As far as this lawsuit, when you are under a denomination, your posessions are that of the denomination's. He just got greedy when he got all those millions and felt he didnt owe them. He says all the time how they could not afford to keep the lights on in some churches but those are the facts. It is not his, he was in a binding contract with the denomination. He left and it is their property. I remember when they fired their minister of music because she went back to school and was not able to devote as much time to the church. Are you serious? You should be supporting her. In fact, she kept her job but was unpaid. How insane is that? He even says that if there were no music people would still come to hear the word. Please. Get over yourself. You may be able to draw a crowd but you are not that special. I have been to FTHCM twice in the last 4 years and last sunday he said all these awful things about the media and BET. Why would you do that when BET airs your show? I guess whoring is wrong unless you are whoring your show to a network and then talk about them behind their back. His new thing has been prosperity and setting up a life outside of the world with a barber shop, credit union, realtors, doctors etc. Now the barbers all work on hourly wages and that is it. What insanity is that? I have lived on both sides of the fence and have been trying to get back into church but not when the church you grew to love is doing such hateful things under your nose. You cannot trust them. I once was an assistant choir director there and just my appearance after not being around for years caused nearly his entire message to be directed at homosexuality. Attacking someone just coming to church after years is not going to help anything. Focus on yourself first. Their youth choir director is a recording artist and could not even have her cd release concert at her own church. After the event took place the pastor would not even attend. That is awful. Change is definitely in order.

Also, considering how he likes calling people out...call me out... Jeremy Ross ... but first call out all the things you hav and stil lare doing wrong.

Truthhurts, you seem to know a lot but leave out some facts. It's obvious you were a member of the central church or know someone that used to be onstaff. If you are for the Truth why don't you use your real name, mine is James E Green III. If you are for the truth, tell the whole truth and not a part of the truth. If you have such a grudge, why don't you bring your greivances up at church?!?!? There are 2 sides to every story. Why don't you tell us the details of the lawsuit? If Pastor Owes was in the wrong, why is he still ministering? Why don't you tell us why Pastor Jackson was called an enemy of the cross? Why don't you tell us why another church was bought in Atlanta? As far as Pastor Cherry taking 10% off all FTHCM funds, you don't even believe that lie.

They have 4 daughters not 3.

Wow! all of these comments, so little time. I once attended New Light Church with Pastor & Bridget Hilliard, they were always nice and I am not here to bash anyone.

But since we are on the topic of his daughter that he and his wife disowned, and people want to know let me reveal the truth, not the story.

The truth is Dr. Bridget and Dr. Hilliard have a daughter name, Kermeshea Hilliard Evans, she is bright and very out spoken, she has her own mind. Kermeshea is probably about 33 years old, they disowned her for allegedly stealing from the church. It's so comically to me because, HOW CAN YOU TEACH PEOPLE TO FORGIVE? if you won't forgive your own daughter.

And if God gave you a child and you disown that child, you are calling God a lie. If you say you have 3 daughters and you really have 4.

Kermeshea Hilliard Evans (the one they disowned) is also the middle child Tina Hilliard is Dr. Hilliard's biological daughter but not Bridgette's. Their is also Irishea and Preshea. Count those names for me, I think it will add up to 4 all day.

It's so funny when I read the members comment about her going to New Light and Pastor Hilliard is flying over her house and she can hear it. Lost sheep.

Prosperity is okay but that is not what it's about. If you want to teach prosperity open a bank or go give seminars. Prosperity is not the most important thing in the church. Funny thing is 90% of the people going to church don't even know about the conception of the church, how it all began. Church is not about prosperity Ms. New Light Member, I'm glad your proud of your church but be proud of Loving God, others and yourself. Be proud of what God sacrificed for you, be proud that you have peace and shelter and be proud to help others that can not help themselves.


I went to Women of the Word, Bible Study all of it. New Light Church has a system in place it became so systematic and so tv oriented, I felt like it did not allow the Holly Ghost to come in. By the way for those that want to know I V Hilliards has been admiring Fred Price for years. It kill over laughing when Christians sow this so call monetary seed (not tithes and offering). No where in the bible does it speak of money as a seed. Somebody please show it to me.

I do love the teaching of Dr. Cherry when he says no where in the Bible has documentation that money can be sowed as a seed.


But, the Hilliard's are not perfect let us not be so quick to judge. But it's a shame that they don't care about their daughter, wrong wording, they don't have conviction about disowning their daughter.

Let me say a prayer for both parties, God bless the Hilliard's may God lead their daughter back into their lives and may Kermeshea Hilliard Evans be safe and have favor with God and have his protection and mercy.

I have been following Pastor Cherry long before his church was established in Hbg and there was always something about his method of teaching that caught my attention,He speaks not from his own words but with the words of God as does his son. If you truly study the word you will know that he teaches nothing but the word. Test the spirits by the spirits and give God all the praise

dr cherry takes 10% of all the from the heart churchs money from tithes and uses it for himself, and his son cherry the II call pastor jackson an enemy of the cross and pastor jackson was his best man at his wedding, he takes churches from the people who dont want him to oversee there church anymore and leaves the shepard and sheep astray with no direction but says he's an angel of the church(yea an angel bringing strife), but were declaring our oneness right? everything the Zion church did to him he's doing to the pastor who pull out, he shipped pastor owes from houston to maryland to southern califorina and back to maryland and lied and said he finished his tasked in california, pastor owes really got in a lawsuit with a member for over a million dollors but they won't tell us that, when swafford was at the parents church he called pastor swafford his son but then flew down to tampa and said something totally different in pastor swafford pulpit, and Dr cherry had the nerve to buy a church in atlanta and called it the church of love what love by lying on jackson saying he stole money from the church has anybody ever wonder why he bought a church in atlanta was it to seek and save the lost or was it notion to prove a point at pastor jackson dr cherry made a constituion that gives him the right to move founding pastors, well lets think about this if god tells me to start a church in ohio and you try to move me arent you conflicting with the will of god from the heart central is like a church with dirt under the rug so it looks good to the people but behind close doors it displays the face of satan if you dont think im telling the truth abouth anything thing ask pastor swafford ask pastor jackson ask pastor owes or even ask dr cherry because god knows im not lieing im just telling the spoken truth

Pastor Cherry's words have motivated me to take action against those who choose to try and invade my home and life with there decadence. I took a stand and have become a warrior in Christ and stand tall in the knowledge that all is possible with Christ, Fear nothing.

Pastor Cherry is a dynamite teacher and it is up to all individuals to seek out the gospel for ourselves. The messages are right on and if we take the time to find out what the WORD says for ourselves, we will see that he is teaching what the Bible teaches. Too many people are hung op on what he has and not what he does. He has led thousands to Christ and not to himself. His congregation has an infrastructure in place and openly discloses the finances of the church. How rare to do this and this is something that most churches do not do.

How does Mr. Cherry explain his RV worth approx. $1 mil, his Outdoor Resort in Indo,CA, his othe RV resort on the east coast, and his Lear Jet that he uses to fly from one Multi $mil. home to another? Doesn't he understand that Christ preached against such matereal things, and why doesn't he share his wealth with his followers? Are his followers aware of his flagarant life style?

He is a powerful and truthful speaking minister, that knows God, and God has revealed the mystery of himself, and granted him the privilidge to know him, and speak his truth about him. He is no longer on The Word Network and I would love to know why. I miss hearing him, and studying with his ministry.

I must concur with SONmind. John Cherry is one of the few TV preachers who presents a balanced gospel not full of non-sensical rhetoric, catch phrases, and unending appeals for money. He preaches the Word straight from the Bible, and not his own interpreation of it. I have never heard him recite the greed creed that most modern day preachers spout without ceasing and without apology. In fact, Dr. Cherry admonishes against the dangerous Word of Faith teaching that we should have whatever we want from God, thus making us puppetmasters of the God of the universe. He is a balanced teacher and a true man of God who preaches Jesus, repentence, and holy living. It is so refreshing to finally find a minister who is not consumed with the name and claim it theology of prosperity and greed. Thank you, Dr. Cherry.

I appreciate experiencing excellence in whatever I consume. This should especially apply when one is talking about consumption of things that influence ones thinking, actions, words, and ultimately their ETERNAl end. To be a true minister (servant) requires diligence, sacrifice, prayer (with tears), and true intimacy with GOD. The man or woman of GOD must take pleasure in HIS glory being revealed in transformed people, not from personal material gain. Pastor Cherry is one of the few I've seen on TV whose teaching reflects these traits.
