Longhorn has gotten just as bad as Copenhagen. They are cheating the customer. They are fluffing the cans now. You can open a new can and it looks like there has already been a chew taken out. Copenhagen started this and the price went up. I use to buy Cope for a quarter a can . I quit them because of this very reason. I will start looking again for a full can product that has not been fluffed. I have several friends as well that use this very product and have the same complaints.

Longhorn has been the best alternative to Cope that I could find with the punch. The price was more half per can than Cope, but at Wal-Mart today, Longhorn was 9 bucks a can. Thats right, I said NINE. I don't know what's going on.
Rjohnson71 08/30/2009
This may not be the greatest smokeless tobacco ever made but it is good. Especially for its cheap price. It has a sour and salty taste that I like. A can of Copenhagen costs about $4.00 or higher. People can't afford that price. I only buy one or two cans of Copenhagen a year because it's so damn expensive. I give Longhorn a 4 star rating.
Skoal Guy 08/18/2009
not bad when your straped for cash but skoal mint has got to be the best
skoalfiend 06/25/2009
This shit horrible if your dipping this you need to get a job and buy an actual can of dip. It tastes like shit, smells like shit, so it must be shit.
Sclason 06/12/2009
chewed it all from stokers to kbear and longhorn packs the hardest punch with the worst flavor. worth every damn penny
newland 06/12/2009
it tastes good you can choose from a bunch of different flavors and its better than paying 5 dollars for a can of copenhagen or skoal but its not quite as good tho
rambler87 06/01/2009
Longhorn is very good. Slightly below its cousins Timberwolf and Redman.
metaalhead666 05/28/2009
I just started swiched from smoking wanted to try something new. and I don't like the long cut wintergreen stuff, i mean the buzz isn't bad but I'm going to try streight and see what it tasts like. Price though is awsome. One reason why I'm swhiching from smoking to chew.
rushredneck1 05/23/2009
this dip is dry it packs like shit. and it sucks ass
RedNeckchewer 05/04/2009
Longhorn is by worst tasting snuff on the market, the stuff tastes like worm dirt LOL...
justCopewithit 05/02/2009
I think Longhorn deserves more credit than it is given. Even though the flavor doesn't last very long, it is under $2. Also, I have never had a (really) dry can of Longhorn, and I have been dipping it for about four months at a can a day. Even though this dip is not as good as Cope/Skoal/Grizz etc, it still gives a decent buzz. Though I haven't tried mint or any other flavors other than natural and straight, those two flavors last a pretty decent amount of time. All in all, this is a pretty decent value dip.
comingbackdown 04/29/2009
My first can of this was Longhorn Long Cut Straight. After trying a higher quality Skoal Straight, I can say this. It doesn't have as much spiciness as I'd expect from a Straight dip, however. It stands up quite well. Flavor is pleasurable, quite strong, flavor and nose similar to saddle leather, which I enjoy. Now, onto the Long Cut Mint... Bad idea. Shouldn't have bought it. From the day I first packed the can and opened it, the can did not seal correctly. Now I have slightly dry dip with half the tobacco flavor, and enough mint kick to knock me for a loop.Out of the two flavors I've tried, I'd rate the Straight best of the two.
JT667 04/09/2009
i like it, now i'm a grizzly man myself but at $1.80 a can it's cheap and actually really good, aside from the fact that the fine cut is almost like powder it's still really good if your on a budget
AlvinHarringto n 04/02/2009
I like it
darklurker 04/01/2009
It's cheap. Maybe even the cheapest. Like any good battery-acid, it takes some getting used to. I used Skoal fine-cut wintergreen for 20 years but started looking for alternatives when the price got close to $5/can. I used Silver Creek for a few years, back 4-5 years ago when you could get a 2-pack for $2 or less, then tried Kayak (which sucked), then settled on Longhorn fine-cut wintergreen 2 or 3 years ago. I hated the taste at first, but liked keeping the money in my wallet. Now I can't stand the taste of Skoal or Silver Creek or any others. I've been ruined by cheap tobacco... ;)The only problem I've had with Longhorn fine-cut wintergreen is that it's hard to find. It's not very popular (and reading the other reviews, I can see why) so not many stores carry it, and those that do don't often keep much in stock. I've thought about trying the long-cut, since most stores have plenty, but I've never been a big fan of long-cut (at least not Skoal Long-cut).
Und3rag3dipp3r lulz 03/25/2009
Never had it and I don't want too, I've only heard bad things about it.
bmanning 02/27/2009
longhorn mint is pretty damn good. has a good flavor and it last quite awhile. great for when your low on cash.
44Mr48 02/24/2009
Not that good! Dont even try it save your money
kyleshaw 01/31/2009
i like longhorn it is dame good i have been chewing it for a few years now and i love it. i will agree with some people that the longhorn flavors( like mint or winter green) taste like a pice of dog shit. but i chew the longhorn straight and it is alot better than anything else. i dont like cope it tastes like i am chewing a pice of lether and the smell when you open it smells like my left nut. if i have to chew cope i always get cope straight. and i dont like grizzly it is by far the worst its like the shit that comes out of my ass. when i chew it, it tares the living shit out of my lip it is almost like i put a hand full of ground glass into my lip it is pure shit. i like the price of longhorn to it is cheap. i figured that i chewed 2 cans a week and i figured i spend about 288 dollars a year on longhorn. if you add up the price of cope it would cost me almost 600 dollars a year. some people talk about longhorn being vary dry i have never had a dry can it must just depend on where you live. i have had bad experince with cope drying out if you get about 3/4 of the way finished with the can it starts drying out very bad it is just dumb that you spend 6.00 dollars a can only to have the last few dips dry out. i would suggest longhorn straight to any one.
jgreer81 01/26/2009
i would choose longhorn straight over anything and not just because of the price. its always moist and keeps a good flavor
uman1 01/24/2009
hat it it use to be my faverit it sucks. no strangth if you chew it your cheap mite as well by horse shit and put it your lip.never dip it agin!!!!
chewwwwman 01/07/2009
never will dip it agin. it sucks it use to be my favrit. now i only chew grizz
winter green
ohgod247 01/06/2009
I've tried just about every dip under the sun and this stuff (all flavors) has to be the worse. The wintergreen tastes like some kind of house cleaning detergent. The tobacco looks like the crap of the crap tobacco. I don't recommend this stuff. Even for $1.49.
DeathLord 01/02/2009
Love it all i dip now. Plus cant beat the price
HeadHunter90 12/04/2008
I can't stand this stuff. It always seems to be really dry and taste horrible
terpman86 12/03/2008
I dip Copenhagen and Skoal mostly. Skoal for the many flavors and Cope when I need a good buzz (not that it doesn't taste good too). Just tried some Longhorn long-cut mint, and it's really not bad. Not as good a flavor as Skoal mint, and not as good a buzz as Cope. What convinced me to get it was the price though, couldn't beat that.
longhornnut 11/29/2008
i used copenhagen and tried longhorn and love it.now it's all i used. do you make it in a pouch like scoal bandits?
longhorn1966 11/26/2008
i just moved from seattle to pennsylvania, i cant find the longhorn fine-cut natural anywhere. any ideas where i may go to get it
UNCtarheelFan 11/17/2008
I'd rather dip coffee grounds!
rstan66 11/13/2008
I don't get the negative reviews.I used skoal for years and have used longhorn for about the last 3 years or so.I'll take it over skoal even at the same price. They should put some kind of date on the can though that I can understand.
condo 11/11/2008
I finally figured out what the Wintergreen tastes like... Pepto-Bismol!
brtf534 11/10/2008
Its not that great when i try to get a pinch out;It breaks away too easily. But it tastes better and is a few dollars cheaper than Skoal, which is what I usually dip,and I think the buzz is a bit better. But overall its pretty good in price and flavor
CarrollCountyK id 11/08/2008
I wonder why the government lets this stuff into the country. It is awful. It must be bad for your health, unlike grizz. Grizz is healthy. Look at me!
ValkyrieRider 11/08/2008
I'd like to start my review of this product by addressing a comment made by jojone88. I have been chewing tobacco or dipping some type of tobacco for some 35 years. I've tried alot of differnt products and have remained loyal to only one. The one with the lowest price. Tobacco is like any other product dealing with taste; coffee, beer, burgers, potato salad, etc.. (I hope you get the picture). Once you have gotten use to the flavor of your choice in, oh lets say beer, you have a immediate dislke for another formula. Tobacco is the same. Longhorn has been my choice of smokeless tobacco for about 7 years now. It took about 3 weeks (as it would for any flavor related product) but after that I was AOK. I went from Skoal to Timberwolf to Grizzly then to Long Horn. All that influenced me was the dollar. If your favorite brand is too high in price, don't buy it. That is the only way your favorite will cost less. The recent reduction in gas comsupiton is a great example of how the consumer dictates the market. If we were only that united in other facets of our lives. So, I firmly believe that you think Longhorn is a dirt tobacco but if you had started with and gotten use to Longhorn, Skoal or Grizzly or Timberwolf would be dirt. Another fact about taste, our taste buds change about every 7 years so that hot dog with mustard and relish you like so much might not be so appealing the next time you have one. Lonewolf49 can probably echo everything I just said about different tobaccos.

I Like The Straight At First I Hated It,It Almost Made Me Throw Up But Now That I've Gotten Used To It,It's Not That Bad Anymore Plus I Got This Can For Free So I Can't Complain =]
BoFoSho 10/07/2008
the only time i buy that shit is when i aint got enough money to buy a log of grizzly wintergreen....its alrite but id rather dip grizzly
brad1009 10/05/2008
its ok for on a fiene but i wouldnt buy it again otherwise
ILIKETOPARTY37 09/25/2008
the straight is not bad. before i got a job it was all i chewed. it doesn't smell the best but it taste alot better than it smells.
redmaninacan 09/22/2008
it's pretty much grizzly's retared cousin
Tripp70657 09/11/2008
Now this is about the worse dip I have tried.
asdf4435432523 5432 08/24/2008
hey man it may be cheap and not as good as skoal or cope but it gets the job done on a budget. and im from jersey so the prices are ridiculous on everything so its a good fallback
jojones88 07/13/2008
Longhorn is complete dirt tobacco. I have never had one decent can of Longhorn. It is cheap though. I can only recommend this brand if you are in desperate need of a dip and are strapped for cash. Even new cans are usually dry, and the texture is aweful. Its like they don't even care. I swear they scrape this off the floor at Swedish Match North America. They must use kull from other manufacturers. For dip news/reviews visit: http://frogtowndipper.blogspot.com/

I used to dip Cope for years but it's now nearly $6. I tried Longhorn short cut and love it. Grizzly fine cut is pretty good but I prefer Longhorn fine cut.
OceanSoul 04/22/2008
Longhorn moist snuff was the worst I ever tried, and I tried 2 of their original 3 offerings. There was nothing good about the product except for the $ .99 price. I quit experimenting with dipping after trying Longhorn.
svp 04/04/2008
I have used longhorn long cut wintergreen for years. I usually use 2 rolls ( 10 cans ) per week. I was wondering if your company would mail me some savings coupons. I'll take as many as you'll send me. Thanks. Vaughn Payseur 310 Ahsebrook Park Road Dallas, N.C. 28034.
