Longhorn is complete dirt tobacco. I have never had one decent can of Longhorn. It is cheap though. I can only recommend this brand if you are in desperate need of a dip and are strapped for cash. Even new cans are usually dry, and the texture is aweful. Its like they don't even care. I swear they scrape this off the floor at Swedish Match North America. They must use kull from other manufacturers. For dip news/reviews visit: http://frogtowndipper.blogspot.com/

I used to dip Cope for years but it's now nearly $6. I tried Longhorn short cut and love it. Grizzly fine cut is pretty good but I prefer Longhorn fine cut.

Longhorn moist snuff was the worst I ever tried, and I tried 2 of their original 3 offerings. There was nothing good about the product except for the $ .99 price. I quit experimenting with dipping after trying Longhorn.

I have used longhorn long cut wintergreen for years. I usually use 2 rolls ( 10 cans ) per week. I was wondering if your company would mail me some savings coupons. I'll take as many as you'll send me. Thanks.

I only had $2 on me and was wanting some nicotine, so I bought it. I had never heard of it before (Copenhagen man myself) and from looking at the price, I thought it was probably one of those fake "help you stop chewing" things. BUT, I was wrong. It definitely has nicotine in it. I hate flavored (wintergreen, cherry, etc) tobacco, so I got the long cut straight. I can't complain for what it costs. It's not as nasty as what everybody else here seems to think.

i havent been dipping that long...since august 2007...i started out with cope LC but money was tight...and i am only 17...so i got my buyer to get me some long horn cuz its 1.89 in long island ny and let me tell you...when i opened the can...i almost puked...not a good sign...so i tried to pack a lip and as soon as it hit my tounge...i gaged real bad...so i threw it out...i will never buy it again...if your looking for a good cheapish dip go with girzzly fine cut natural...tastes and smells like a good dip of copenhagen...i also am a big fan of skoal berry blend

This is probably the worst product on the market in terms of tobacco. I don't have a clue how this was rated so high but come on people! I don't know how they make any money whatsoever. It's pure shit in a can. If you can't afford anything else, then bum a pinch off your friends until you have the money to buy grizzlyor something. Don't bother trying it because you'll regret it.

Longhorn is the worst! We had the cans priced at .49 a piece out here for a while in california, and I figured what the hell since husky was like 2.50 a can. First thing i noticed was the mechanical smell and taste. I bought a total of 3 cans at 3 different places (walmart and 2 seperate gas stations) and they all had the same effect. Kinda like an ol/lubrication line on the machine bust and sprayed the dip. Didnt get any satisfaction after dipping either, stopped after 10 minutes and popped in some husky. horrible shit. Flavor like a muffler shop...

hey what u say is not true in my opinion. Longhorn natural fine cut is actually a good dip to try. When you first get a two finger dip the juices start flowing and the great flavor is revealed. But don't get me wrong COPENHAGEN is the best around.

I quit smoking to dip. I like tobacco but I also like breathing too. I know that eventually I will rot my face off. I am aware of this so save your preaching. I will still be able to walk down to my grandparents house and breath while doing it though, even if I only have half a face. Heh heh heh. I liked dipping Kodiak but that got too strong. I like Skoal pouches but they don't give me enough tobacco to get a good dip. So I am dipping Skoal long cut and sometimes Grizzly long cut. I do have a comment for LONGHORN though. If I was going to dip LONGHORN again, since I have only dipped it once, here is what I would do. Wait for a dog to start taking a dump, then pinch off some of the turd and put it in my mouth, right as it is coming out its ass because that is what LONGHORN tastes like. You will get the same taste and effect as if you bought a can of LONGHORN except you can save your dollar to get a cold drink to wash that after-taste out of your mouth.

this stuff is f**n disgusting!!! don't try it im warning you. save your money. Its not the worst out there but definately comes close. the long cut is basically fine cut and fine cut is basically a powder. The wintergreen also had a weird taste to it. Last can I'll ever buy.

longhorn really isnt bad...in that its not great either. longhorn has a good taste, its just not a bold one so you cant really enjoy the tobacco itself. but for the price what do you expect. i know the same people make timberwolf but dont try to compare them.

Well my friends it does not beat a nice dip of cope but when money is tight this is a GOOD substitute!

Let me just say this, I will NEVER leave copenhagen long cut but one day When I was in high School I was broke as an old ford ( Chevy Kicks ASS) when I came across a cornerstore on an indian reservation. I begged my friends to donate some money for me to buy a can of cope and came up with only $5.25 I would not get paid for a week so I went in and there was almost every form, kind, and brand of tobacco on the market I waltzted up to the counter and asked for a can of cope when a five can of longhorn (Straight) cuaght my eye... it was only $4.35. I asked the cashier why so cheap and she said that it was not a popular brand, I gave her back the can of cope and bought the longhorn and when i got out of the store I opened the top can and took a two finger, It had an initial taste of chemical but then and was a little plasticy in the texture but overall had an OK sweet taste. looking back on it today I should have bought the cope but if i ever wanted cheaper tobacco I'd have to go with longhorn. Overall two stars for price an a decent taste

They use way too much ammonia in Longhorn Natural Fine Cut. Even if I let it dry out a few hours, it's still really harsh. It kills the inside of my mouth.

Longhorn Long Cut is absolutely the nastiest tasting shit I've ever tried.

I dipped Cope for nearly 12 years. I switched to Red Seal at first because of price until it went over the $3 mark.

I alternate now between Husky and Grizzly (NFC) depending on availability.

Ive been dippin for about six years now and a die hard fan of the grizzly strait and natural. But one day i was in the local corner store and couldnt come up with the two bucks for grizzly so i bought a can of longhorn. It was terrible to put it short it was like (SHIT) in a can. It was so cheap and bad tastin after two dips i slung it out of my chevy and went and bought a can of grizzly.

I dipped kodiak wintergreen for about 6 years till I just couldn't handle it. I switched to Skoal, because it was a little drier and weaker. From that, I went to Skoal mint. THen prices got out of control. US Tobacco (Skoal) started making Husky, so I went to that. It was basically Skoal for 2 bucks a can. THen bam, it's nowhere to be found. So I go to Longhorn, which is a good mix between Husky/Skoal Mint and Kodie/Grizzly mint. So if you like Skoal/Husky or Kodiak/Grizzly mint flavor, you're likely to find Longhorn pretty alright. Especially for the price.

I chewed Skoal straight for about 5 years, but when it started costing over 4 dollars a can i decided to switch. Now I chew Longhorn Straight and after about a week I got used to the taste and the feel. Now If I go the the store and they don't have Longhorn I get Skoal and I can't tell the difference. My old man has been chewing for almost 40 years and for 35 of those years he chewed Skoal. He switched to Kayak Wintergreen, to me its not very good. But he loves it and you can usually get it for under a dollar. If someone that has chewed that long can switch because of the price, I think every one can. Some people just don't want to get caught with a cheaper brand because they think people will give them crap because of the cheaper brand.

Personally Copenhagen Black is my favorite dip but I refuse to pay the outrageous prices that USTC wants for their product. I have been dipping Longhorn L/C Straight for a couple of years now and like it a lot. I buy it online at Lil Brown for $3.00 per 5 count roll (60 cents a can!!!). I never buy my dip locally because of the high prices in CT. One exception I made was to buy a tin of Longhorn L/C Wintergreen and a tin of L/C Mint from Wal Mart for $1.22/tin to try them before ordering a lot online. I enjoyed them both very much so I'm switching from the straight to wintergreen. The mint was very good but the mint overpowered the tobacco taste too much for my liking. It tasted like a strong toothpaste lol. Another plus to Longhorn and Timberwolf is that they contain 10% more tobacco per tin!!! I would beware of the comment posted by thealex21 regarding using Listerine after dipping to prevent cancer. Listerine and any other mouthwash increases your risk of oral cancer. It does so by removing the protective mucous coating in your oral cavity. I just brush 3 times daily and rinse with a salt water solution to soothe the tissue that gets irritated by the snuff.

Longhorn is alright tasting and Skoal is a little bit better. Skoal is 5.00 a can and longhorn is around 1.50, if you go through a can in 2 days of longhorn u save (compared to skoal) you save over $600 a year if you dip over 20 years you save around $13000 if you dip over 50 years you save over $30000, why not save tht money and dip something a little less quality??

Ah 2 my fellow dippers,I use to smoke American Spirits and then switched to dip in college when a friend put me on Skoal. Yeah that shit sucked its paying 5 bucks a can when a 2.50-3.00 can is just as effective. Remember money doesnt determine good dip. I think Grizzly is good and Longhorn and the Copenhangen if you want to help buy a cowboy a new horse. yeah so get the long cut and get some listerine for after a few dips, helps prevent cancer. and enjoy dippin!~

Why does Longhorn Long Cut Straight taste like Skoal? I quit that girl's chew decades ago. Why do they call it "Straight' when it's obviously a flavored dip? How about some truth in advertising? I've been dipping Cope for nearly 30 years and guess what? I'm switching. If I'm going to die of mouth cancer with no teeth in my head I'm not going to pay $ 3.99 a tin for the priviledge. The Longhorn Long Cut Natural is the new brand. It has a great tobacco flavor. Since you can't get uncured clippings no more it's all I find acceptable.

This dip is great for its price. I didn't try it for the longest time because it is so cheap, but man this has a good taste and lasts a really long time. I tried wintergreen and natural. Both were suprisingly good. I only wish the natural came in long cut. My recomendation is if you haven't tried it yet, go get some even if you hate it your only out around 1 dollar. I only payed 1.12 and cope sells for 5.25 around here.
