Stay away from Skil!! Recently purchased a 12 volt Skil cordless drill. Warranty was registered. When attempted to charge the battery, charger was dead. Notified the company via email as they did not list a toll free number on this product. Received email from them referring me to their New Jersey branch for warranty service. I called the number given. The customer service rep was not helpful at all. He stated that he had no access to the warranties on file. Gave me the royal runaround. Finally told me that if I would send then the purchase price of a charger, they would send it out. The amount they wanted for a charger was more than the drill costed. My opinion: Any company that want to exist and compete in this economy must keep the customer happy. Since this drill is useless without a charger, it goes into the trash. If I wanted to use the tool, I could buy a complete drill that comes with a charger cheaper than this company wants for a charger. I have had it for one week but I will never spend another dime on a Skil or Bosch tool.
