05/12/2006 | Houston's has been one of my favorite restaurants for almost 15 years now. I've eaten at every one in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Nashville,West Palm, LA, Orange County, and San Francisco. The only disappointments ever are Manhattan Beach (LA) & San Francisco, and because they allowed these restaurants to change their menu's to more seafood fare, and eliminated my favorite Iron Skillet Baked Beans, and changed the salad style to more seafood from traditional steak house expectation (Bacon, egg, and cheese on the salad with croutons). The traditionally superb wait staff at these two restaurants were absent. Aside from that, the ribs are excellent, my wife loves the tuna, and the Iron Skillet Baked Beans are the best I've ever had. The 5-Nut Brownie and coffee tops off a great dinner

01/07/2005 | Probably one of my all time favorite restaurants. The menu is limited but I believe it is because they care about the quality of the food. The spinach and artichoke dip is by far the best there is anywhere.
I don't know where gy-rater is from but I live in Memphis and the Houston's here has been around for 20 years and it was never just a steak house.

12/07/2004 | Houstons was originally a fine steak house. They changed their name and concept to be able to expand their menu and once again proved the forula that if it ain't broke, you don;t fix it. Two friends and I have had three bad meals at three different Houston's in the past year.
Waiters are routinely rude and snobbish; when I asked one at the most recent visit how long ago they had changed from being a steak house to a restaurant, this little a#@hole had the temerity to tell me they had always been a restaurant, and never a steak house. The food was cold, not as described (in the overly long spiel by same snot-nosed cretin) and generally such a bad experience, I wrote to the company to complain. Their response was to send me a gift certificate which I gave to my plumber when he came to unclog my disposal. I will not be going back to Houston's unless it is the only place to eat left.

06/24/2003 | Houston's is not a good restaurant. The food's fresh, but its not well cooked and prepared. A lot of people like it, but I find that the food there is kind of bland and non-descript.

11/13/1999 | The best chain restaurant around. High quality service and great food make Houston's an excellent place. My only complaint is that they need to open more of them because they still aren't in a lot of places. When you go, make sure you order the Spinach dip. It's the best appetizer around.
