It can be. I had borken a bone in my right hand (I'm right handed) and it got really frustrating. I couldn't write, couldn't play the guitar, and was limited to what I could do in Kung Fu.

Reliving cause of the injury can reoccur many times and cause severe emotional damage. I supposed that is delayed stress trauma.

It's not recalling the incident that caused the injury that causes the emotional pain, it's remembering the way life was before the injury occurred. It's thinking about all the things you used to love doing that you can no longer do, the things you always dreamed of doing that are no longer possible. How one's emotional spectrum inverts on itself; things once associated with the greatest pleasure, now associated with misery and frustration, is a truly abominable thing to have to go through. It really puts all the more trivial problems of life into perspective.

I wouldn't know first hand. I'd imagine it would hurt a lot emotionally, frustrated that you're not as physically able as before, or feeling like you're disfigured. Or feeling like you're a burden on someone else. I would imagine it'd feel like you've lost a part of yourself.

How serious are we talking here. If it was a quadriplegic deal, than yes that would be tremendously hurtufl. However, if it were a serious injury that could be improved upon by rehab, then it wouldn't be as bad.
