03/16/2006 | Particularly difficult if the demotion occurs for reasons not based upon a worker's performance or deportment. In the workplace - as in most institutions - cronyism, sycophancy and corruption frequently exist to one degree or another. Learning how to navigate around such shark-infested waters can mean the difference between progressing forward in a company or stagnating, demotion and even termination.

10/05/2005 | I'd imagine you'd feel a pretty deep cut in your sense of self-worth. I only rate this a "3" with respect to the other, more traumatizing things listed.

10/04/2005 | That would suck. Not so much because of the loss of a title or anything, but mostly because of the loss of salary. Having to rebudget my family's spending would be something that would have a lot of other effects on them.
