 | BruceS (2) 03/16/2006 | Been there - Accused of a completely bogus and fraudulant allegation involving my beautiful and sweet American Pit Bull Terrier (go ahead and extrapolate your own conclusions...).
I didn't lose major money in cash, but lost everything else, including my career & house.
I'm still trying to recover financially and emotionally, several years down the line (although I wouldn't give up my beloved and innocent dog).
It just completely sucks, if you're innocent of the charges.
I rated a 5 (being "Worst" for this poll), but would give it 10,000+ if possible.
Now, on the other hand, if one is guilty of the alleged wrongdoing, then step up and accept the fate; you've no one to blame but yourself.
Please, please, don't ever sue someone unless the issue is completely legitimate.
The damage and scars for an innocent accused can be way, way beyond a simple, easy payday for the plaintiff.
Even if the plaintiff ultimately gets no Award or Settlement, an innocent Defendant can pay very dearly for a false accusation.
I loathe snake Personal Injury attorneys, and their lying clients.
Despicable human beings.
I pray daily for Karmic justice for the persons involved.
Fraud is defined as "Intentional Material Misrepresentation in an effort to obtain unearned profit or gain" (or very much like that).
If you lie or exaggerate, even just a little, to get something not completely and honestly deserved, someone else can be gravely harmed.
OK, off my soapbox now...

 | zuchinibut (41) 10/04/2005 | This would piss me off pretty badly. I am not a rich person, and it would be a hard thing for me to go through to have somebody trying to sue me.
