 | jessman553 (0) 07/27/2008 | I've visited the Texas Roadhouse Restaurant in Worcester, MA several times and every single time i've had an excellent experience. The food is always extraordinary, and the servers are always quick and very kind. If any of you are speaking of this particular Texas Roadhouse and give it a 1-star rating, then you should not be listened to. Also, for those of you who are giving any restaurant a 1-star rating, have a logical argument and please at least spell right (Maggie, it's steak...not stake). Great restaurant and worth going too, it's fun too!

 | Twinkie1001 (0) 07/06/2008 | I have been to this restaurant before and thought it was pretty good. I only had 4 people with me that time. This time I wanted to take some family back. No that did not work. There was only 8 of us. 4 kids and 1 teenager and 3 adults. So we first go in and the music is so loud that the girls behind the counter had to keep asking me what I was saying. Finally they tell me that we can have 2 different tables and they dont have ANY idea how long the wait is or "you can cram in a 6 seater". We asked if they moved tables together they said no that is a fire hazard but we can put a chair on the end of the table. At this point there were 4 different girls trying to talk over the others and the music. They said they would get the manager to come and explain it. She came out and; just like the other girls looked to be about 15. She too said that it is not a fire hazard to have a chair the end of the table but you cant put tables together. This must be the only restaurant that I have ever been to that does not put table together. So we went to the Japaneses Steakhouse instead.

 | salley (0) 03/07/2008 | One of the most horrific crimes is the killing of police officers, who protect and serve us all. Not so for Texas Roadhouse. Visit this link to learn this restaurant's response to the death of two officers in the line of duty:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/roadhouse.asp
You may be tempted to chalk this up to the jerk who managed this particular outlet of this chain. But I think the slowness of the corporate response is much more telling. Enjoy your next steak.

 | SteakSnob (0) 01/27/2008 | Walking into the restaurant and seeing the case presenting thick, hand cut steaks made my heart glow eagerly. Any restaurant that knows enough to cut a steak thick must know enough to prepare it well!
I ordered the 12 ounce ribeye, one of the finest cuts of beef in the cow, well marbeled meat pakced with marvelous flavors. The bread was so wonderful, that my mouth watered for what was sure to be a wonderful meal.
When the waitress brought my steak to the table, my heart dropped. Where was the thick hand cut steak so proudly displayed in the case up front? What they brought to the table was a thin shaving of steak with the dreaded diamond criss cross pattern so common to low end steak houses. At that point, I knew that what I was served was a dreaded, over-marinated serving of tangy mush beef.
Fans of marinade love it because it makes meet "so tender". What they don't realize, I'm sure, is that marinade rips apart the meet proteins and replaces the flavor of natural beef with the tanginess of the vinegar or marinade agent.
Marinades are used when you have a piece of low quality, tough meat that you need to tenderize just to make it edible. Claims that the meat is "tender" and excitement over the fact that it "falls apart when I touch it with my fork!" are only evidence of a horribly prepared steak.
A good quality cut of steak is packed full of flavor and provides a chewy texture.
For my money, I might as well get a steak at Ponderosa as get one at Texas Roadhouse.
For those of you who find my post curious and wonder what a good steak actually tastes like, I recommend that you visit your local Ruth's Chris or Morton's. If you live in the country, I understand you might not have access to good steak, and my heart goes out to you. The best thing to do is go to Sam's club or Costco, buy a vaccuum sealed whole beef tenderloin, and visit foodnetwork.com to review Alton Brown's preperation recipies for Filet Mignon. It won't cost anymore than the roadhouse and the results will be fabulous.
Even though I have been disappointed by Outback time and time again, I say they do a better job than texas roadhouse. At least they don't marinate their steaks.
Of course, steak lovers like their steaks medium-rare. If you're the kind of person that likes a steak well done, then marinade usually helps prevent the toughness that comes with drying a steak out. If so, then you might love the Texas Roadhouse.

 | WoodDogGV (0) 01/27/2008 | I have been to Texas RoadHouse 3 times. The first time it was new so the wait was deemed necessary (1.5 hours). The second time we went super early and got right it. This last time I finally took an honest look around and asked myself what I was trying to get out of the place. I had a gift certificate and without that, I would never go back. 90 minute wait for dinner? Seriously, there are other restaurants with better food, shorter waits, and less imitation atmosphere within 90 minutes of my house.

 | louiethe20th (74) 01/18/2008 | Steaks are very good, rolls with the cinnamon butter are tasty and the salads (great homemade crutons) may be the best in the business.

 | Tromp5 (0) 12/28/2007 | We have tried to go there 3 times. The first time, there was a 2 1/2 hour wait... They recommended coming back at a earlier time. The second time there was a 2 hour wait... They recommended calling before coming. The third and last time, we called only to be told they don't do reservations. It might have been useful to mention that they do call ahead seating, but they didn't do that. I hope for their sake that the people that have been successful in getting into their restaurants are enough to keep them going in the future.

 | irishgit (145) 10/12/2007 | Mediocre steaks, served warm, disinterested service, and a noise level that drowned out the jackhammers in the street outside.
Once was enough for me, thanks, although I did like the peanuts and the shells on the floor.

 | uncnc08 (42) 10/12/2007 | The food has always been good to me,especially the cheese steak fries, and the bbq ribs fall off the bone they are so tender.
The atmosphere is loud and noisy,If you come for good conversation with your meal you probably will not be able to hear anything,oh and the peanuts buckets on the table, and the peanut shells on the floor is not a plus in my book.

 | Rating2Help (4) 08/06/2007 | I have been there twice and love the bloomin' onion! The food is decent. The service excellent. One thing is the music is so loud you can't hear your table-partner speak unless they are yelling. Gets on my nerves, I hope they lower the volume.

 | ugtr (7) 06/28/2007 | I love the food at the Texas Roadhouse. I have never been served a bad meal there. The prices are midrange. I like the fact that they give you unshelled peanuts while you wait for your order to be served. I dislike that some of the other patrons who spit peanut shells on the floor instead of in the handily supplied bucket. This isn't the restaurant's fault though. Some people are just not classy. I haven't had the same terrible service experiences that some of the previous reviewers had so I must assume that the Roadhouse near my house hires from a slightly deeper part of the gene pool. I'v also never noticed the overtly country redneck atmosphere other reviewers talk about. Perhaps my local franchise tones it down a bit because of the geographic location (NJ).

 | CANGELES2 (0) 06/28/2007 | The food was great. The first and only time I went there I took my sister there for her birthday. The waiter spilt the whole drink on the table and my sister. His basic concern was to get us another drink but didn't wipe up the table, we did. I had to ask 3 times for him to take the buckets with our wet napkins and ice from the spilt drink away. About 5 minutes after we got our food he came back asking if we needed any thing else or a box for our food. He never asked us if we wanted the 14 oz steak or 16 oz. So I don't know what we got because I never recieved an itemized bill, just the balance. He never asked us if we wanted desert. We would have got some since it was my sisters bithday but by that time we had enough of the bad service.

 | Jen74 (0) 06/11/2007 | Texas Roadhouse in West Haven, CT....
Great place to have a fun afternoon with friends. Very casual. The food is AWESOME. My cuz had the steak and I had the grilled salmon. It was one of the best meals I've ever had. Loved the music... then again, I am a country music fan.
There are only two things I did not like (and that's why it's not rated 5 stars), FIRST: the dirt on the floor is not exactly a good look, I didn't like that at all;
SECOND: the service wasn't good - - the waitress absolutely ignored my prescence, she would only speak to my male cousin, flirting, etc... which I found rude since she didn't know who I was, I had to really get her attention if I wanted something. (Wrong move since I was the one paying), of course it was probably that particular bimbo... so we'll see what happens next time I visit.

 | URSHITEOUS (0) 02/23/2007 | For my husband and I we have found that the food is pretty good most of the time I especially enjoy the bread before the meal, however the service is usually less than desirable. The hostess' at our location are almost always high school age girls that you almost always have to break up their gossip to get seated, only then to be treated rudely, but despite the poor staff i will continue to go because the food is good.

 | justusinsactown (0) 02/11/2007 | We recently had a really bad experience at the Texas Roadhouse located in Elk Grove, CA location. This was our first time going to this restaurant. We called ahead of time and the person we spoke with told us there wasn't a waiting time. We drive down there and when we arrived about 30 minutes later. The hostess couldn't of possibly been more rude. She pretty much told us they do not accomodate large parties (we were a party of 6) and they do not join tables. She didn't even give us the option of breaking up into smaller groups...she pretty much 'turned us away'. To make matters worse, she told us there was going to a 2 to 2 1/2 hour wait to be seated....after we called about 30 minutes prior and were told that there wasn't a waiting time. ??? There wasn't that many people and we saw quite a few empty tables. We weren't going to get into a discussion with her (why in the world would we pay for such horrible service ???). Anwyways....we ended up drving across the highway and going to LOGAN'S ROADHOUSE, where we were greeted and accomodated in a friendly and timely manner. It's a shame that we had such a bad experience there...it seemed like a nice place. They just need to get nicer hostesses. Thanks!

 | rangerric (0) 12/28/2006 | Recently, my granddaughter was given a certificate to your restaurant by her school, but have tried for two (2) weeks to obtain seating for six (6) persons, only take seating for five (5) maximum. Plus the waiting time is over fortyfive (45) minutes, children under 8 do not have patience to wait a long time to eat. Great that your company supports local school achievements with a certificate to your restaurant. A special program or seating needs to be put into place for the those receiving said certificate. The certificate will expire soon and the pleasure of eating at your restaurant will not be experienced by my granddaugther. Restaurant is located in Clarksville, IN

a NAZI propaganda message spewing every 2 minutes. Man what a suck ass place. The ribs were under cooked and plain sucky. I had to leave right away to get my tylenol from my car for my headache because of the noise level. Never again!

I can cook the best steak in the world, for 1/5 the price and 3 times the portion...and serve it HOT.
Sigh...

It's right by my apartment, and sometimes I just need a decent steak. This is a reliable place to get one.
ATMOSPHERE: 3/5. The first thing you'll notice is the layer of peanut shells on the floor. All over the place. I really mean it. But, oddly enough, it really doesn't bother me. My mom would freak. My dad would love the place. They've got these pails (some of 'em rusty) filled to the brim with peanuts. People just crack 'em open and flick the shells on the floor with gusto. Me? I can't bring myself to do it; I put the shells on the little plate on the table. Otherwise, the wood-panel walls are cozy, but nothing special. If country music or football bothers you too much, you probably won't like it too much. I'm fine with it, though.
SERVICE: 4/5. Nothing special, consistant, never rude. It's very laid-back.
FOOD QUALITY: 4/5. Pretty decent steak, especially for a chain. It's NEVER overcooked. And the ribs are the second best I've had (a far second, but worthy nonetheless). The meat just slips off the ribs. The sides are okay; the chili's good, the baked beans are dry (avoid!), the baked potato is standard, the rice is decent enough, the mixed veggies are alright. And I particularly like the dinner rolls; very soft, warm, and kind of sweet. I've never saved room for dessert yet, though.
FOOD QUANTITY: 4/5. Fair, especially for the price. I always leave with leftovers.
PRICE: 4/5. Fifty bucks will cover dinner for two and tip easily.
OVERALL: Just a bit under 4/5, but it gets extra consideration for its consistency. Definately a place I'd frequent regularly.

Not when Logan's Roadhouse is so close by. I must say this place is a horrible excuse for a restaraunt. The food was bad, the staff was incompetant, and the only thing I found good about the experience was that the beer was cold( even though it was not the beer I ordered!) Find another place to dine and you won't be sorry.

 | minancy (0) 08/11/2005 | I would give it a 5 except for the loud music. I love the peanuts, my steak (usually the ribeye) and baked potato are consistently wonderful. I like this place better than Outback. The only drawback, how loud the music is. I hate missing half the coversation at the table (I'm in my 30's, and my hearing tests at 1.2, which is almost unheard of (pardon the pun)) and I have a hard time hearing what people are saying because of the noise. I think the food is great; however, the music level is way too much! Wouldn't recommend for a large group who likes to talk.

 | eap (0) 04/14/2004 | I have been a few times, hoping things would get better. The food is good - but only the food. The front desk hostess staff are always leaning all over the stand and gossiping about their friends. I have stood their waiting for them to acknowledge me. Then the music! I don't mind country - but this is so loud its difficult to have a conversation with the folks you are with. But my major compliant is the peanuts. Peanut shells are all over the floor. They are slippery and if anyone has a peanut allergy this overwhelming amount and the peanut haze could be dangerous. They do have empty buckets for the peanut shells - but apparently no one uses them. When eating out the experience is more than the food. I wish the managers would pay attention to these details.

The hostess needs to learn to be friendlier with guests. Id probably think about coming back again.

 | Maggie Iacopucci (0) 08/21/2003 | I have worked in the restraunt business in the past and also frequent many restaurants and was told by a couple of persons this was a good place. Here's how our night went. There were 8 of us and I called to put my name on the list. I was told that they do not accomodate parties over 7. They would seperate us int two groups but could not gaurantee we'd be seating at the same time or be seating near each other. My friends arrived before me and put their name in to be seating a a booth that seats 6 and the intent was to place two chairs at the end. Please note there were 8 tables of 4 in the restaurant. ADA regualations require that 5% of seating be available for handicapped. Why then did they not offer us two of the table together. Anyway we managed.
Next on to the waiter, Joe. We typically had to ask sevral times for imtems (i.e. drinks, water, remove used dishes, glasses, et.
Several of the orders placed were incorrect (HOld on, I'll get to that). A shared apatizer placed on table - had to ask for dishes. Had to then reask for drinks. Drinks came, no used glasses removed. Keep in mind there are eight of us at a table for six. Then the food comes and the server attempts to serve them with the now mounting used dishes and glasses still on the table. We cleard the dirty dishes and passed them to server so we could get the food. Three orders were incorrect. One was an incorrect side, which the person had to ask twice to have corrected. The second was incorrect side, but they didn't feel like waiting so the kept it. I had asked if I could get 1/2 stake tips and 1/2 ribs. Now hold on to your hats. The person next to me wanted her ribs cooked well done. So the server was nice enough to have all the ribs at the table cooked well. Next, my order came with a thin piece of steak (you remember, I had asked for the tips). After a good 15 minutes, I finaly got the waiter and told him of the mix up to which he asked "did you want the tips? Given I got mashed potatoes in lieu of the sauted mushrooms/onions, I nicely requested that my food would be what I had ordered. Please note - I have worked in the food service running a cafeteria (clients 250 to 500) and also have waitressed, so I do feel I have first hand knowledge of how to deal with customers.
Now, here's to fun part - the waiter returned witha dish and on the dish was my well done 1/2 rack of ribs, the by now cold mashed potatoes which I did not order and the piece steak (which I had not ordered) cut into 1/2" cubes and then covered with gravy and mushrooms and onions.
I am, as I feel I should be, upset by this tactic. However, I am also gracious and very calmly called the waiter, Joe, over (this only took 10 minutes to find him) and nicely explained that I was very capable of cutting a steak into tiny pieces, if I had wanted a steak. Then he asked what should he do. I suggested he take away the steak and bring me the steak tips I had ordered.
By this time my 7 friends were pretty much done eating. When mine dinner came back out, it honestly looked as if they took the steak and cooked it again in more gravy.
My 7 friends and I get together once a year at Christmas. We've been doing this for nearly 14 years. We decided it would be nice to get together during the summer. This was our get together.
I did speak with the manager not as a complaint but as a person who has been in the business and explained what had happened. I had indicated that typically when you have this type of business you want to make sure the customer immediately are offered cocktails and that the wait staff should be aware of empty glasses - not only to clear them but to refill them. I know in this business liguor sales are as important to the take as is the food., however, this unfortunate evening was a bust.
Given there were 8 of us who have a lot of friends and relatives, I venture to say that the poor service and adequate meals (I'm sure the hot meals were problably better) is not good for your business. From a business pointof view if 5 or 10%of your customers each night have an such as ours, it does not look good for you overal revenue.
Lastly, steak tips and totally different cut of meat than a thin piece of steak - even people who have not been in the business know that.
Signed a dissapointed ex-customer

Ever since I first went to one of these restaurants a few years ago, I have always considered it to be my favorite place to go for a good steak. Every time that I have been, the food has been cooked just right and the server's are friendly. There is usually a wait to get in, espescially on Friday and Saturday nights, but its well worth it!

My Mother went into the restaurant first to enquire how long a wait and we needed a table not a booth as I am disabled and don't move around too easy. She was told no wait and no problem about the table. We parked the car and had to walk some distance to the entrance. I was using my walker instead of my wheelchair. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by no less than 4 employees standing at the door and we were told there are no tables at this location only booths. My reaction was not pleasant.I said why were we told differently. Duh they didn't know. I was tempted to go back to the car and get my wheelchair and enter the premises again just to see the look on their faces. I have never been back to this location but I certainly have told any one I know my unpleasant experience. There is a closer location (Main ST @270) to my home and I understand from friends that that location does have a few tables. I have already notified ADA of this problem and now you know too. A reply would be appreciated. tbear863@aol.com

UNREAL!
Great service, the best steaks and ribs anywhere and the darn margaritas are just sooooo good!
Check it out if you haven't
Better use call ahead seating or you'll wait an eternity!!!!!

 | Spivey004 (0) 03/17/2003 | Hands down one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Been to 6 different stores in 2 states and the best part is, one is as good as the next. One thing I've learned is that they all have call ahead seating, it's a must at most of them because of the long wait time. Awesome Food.
