This movie has it all--a lovably eccentric lead whose elevators travel sideways and whose wallpaper tastes of snozzberries, bratty children who get their comeuppance in delightfully imaginative ways, immensely quotable quotes ("We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dreams"), and lush fantasy sequences that will leave you longing for your very own chocolate waterfall.  And, yes, there's a feel-good ending for young hero Charlie.

The original version is just awesome.Gene Wilder is Willy Wonka.You have no idea how much as a child i wanted to visit that Wonka chocolate factory.

good movie. Gene wilder is wonderful as Willy Wonka. he has some of the best lines.he is great that you never know what he will do next. still has a fan base today. nice family movie.

The original was a trip and the remake you could tell Tim Burton had his hands on it.
