At his peak, he may have been the best pound for pound fighter in history, and is an absolute lock for the top five.
Hit a ton with either hand, which accounts for the "Hands of Stone" nickname, but added a lot of ring savvy. He was a fearsome opponent, the fabled 'no mas' fight aside.

With a name like "Stone Hands" we can pretty much assume the man could punch. At his peak he was unbeatable and he is still the guy that I think was the best pound for fighter of all time, but he is generally regarded as the third best by most experts, and possibly, along with Benny Leonard, the greatest Lightweight. He had power in each hand and was much more than a slugger, he was a crafty boxer, that knew every trick of the trade, dirty or otherwise, overall I would rate him a five, despite the "no mas" fight with Sugar Ray leonard. I 'll give him a five as a puncher too. One of the very best.

as a lightweight he was unbeatable, and punched extremely hard for a 135ibs. And carried his power late into his bouts, which is rare for big punchers. I will never forget the beat-down he put on davey moore. Moore trash-talked duran before the fight. Duran beat his body like a drum, I remember duran ripping him with body shots in 6th and 7th rounds and moore lifting his legs from the pain.

'Hands of Stone' Duran, you say? Get out of his way.
