05/11/2008 | Wars today can never be fought in the manner they were in the past. Technology and intelligence is now the main powers of an army, which makes it possible to cause severe damage to the infrastructure of the enemy while limiting the collateral damage to a minimum.

10/14/2005 | To REDUCE civilian casualties??? Don't make me laugh. We have no idea who the combatants are. Insurgents (for want of a better word) are everywhere. Nice to see Bush dressed up a 'q and a' session with the troops by the way. Eventually, the truth will out.

10/11/2005 | To anyone who knows the US military or even, for that matter, the US people, the question of intentional noncombatant complications is that of a remote possibility. Americans care about life as much as they care about whatever cause is currently being confronted. And compassion and care for those not directly involved is legendary.

10/10/2005 | My sense is that the US military takes extraordinary, unprecedented measures to limit civilian casualties. It's something that makes me proud, as it's certainly not the easiest way to do things.

10/10/2005 |  There is literally little or no objection to the manner in which the United States engages in combat by those honestly analyze the use of force. Our troops are the most highly trained, procedure conscious on the planet. We take insurmountable risks to attack justifiable targets from low ranges to reduce collateral damage. If we wished we could simply fight from thousands of miles aways pounding guided missles upon targets we find to be strategic installations- but we don't. Instead of launching tactical nuclear weapons or even conventional weapons from submarines or ships in the Persian Gulf we surgically attack our enemy who utilizes various techniques impermissible by Geneva standards. Our weaponry is developed and purposefully crafted to reduce the amount of civilian deaths. There is no carpet bombing. We never engage combatants illegal finding safe haven in religious sites or purposefully target areas that are culturally sensitive. The level of attention this country made to distinguish between combatants and non-combatants in this war in the context of any war in the history of the world there is no comparison. This war was fought as justly as a war can be conceivably fought.
