Laughing Squid 4

Scott's photos are always the first ones I seek out after events. Always awesome.

Laughing Squid 5

Laughing Squid is a mainstay on the San Francisco art and technology scene. I got a chance to hang out with Scott Beale for a while the other night, and it was really cool to hear his take on the evolution of the SF arts and tech scenes. He's been in the middle of it since '93 (I think), and spoke really knowledgably about everything from when Dave Eggers was at Might Magazine, to the evolution of Boing Boing from a zine to one of the world's most popular blogs, to bubble survivors like Adaptive Path, to the fact that Vermont St, not Lombard, is actually the city's most crooked street.

If you're looking for cool SF events, you need to start with Laughing Squid. For example, my wife and I found out about an Easter Sunday big wheel race down Lombard Street (by adults). I couldn't go, but my wife took my nephew and they had a blast.
