To be honest, I had never hear of the Rock n' Roll Trio until a few days ago, while watching a "Legends of Rockabilly" on PBS. I had never heard them play, but man was I blown away when I heard Lonesome Train, and Rockabilly Boogie. I knew the song Train Kept A Rollin that Aerosmith had covered, but didn't know it was their song. Wow, the power of this group with ground breaking guitar work, powerful vocals and a steady bass, should warrant their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Just look at the Hall of Famers that have covered their songs and you must state that they need induction ASAP. How could have the committee put some of these lesser talented artists and groups in, without serious consideration of this powerful rock trio. I am certain if only recording artists selected recording artists for membership this overlooked group would have been inducted long ago. If you believe that they didn't have enough hits, I will submit that although they were only together for a short time, their influence will continue forever as future generations hear their unique and wonderful sound. Finally, I submit that they were better than many, many others that have been inducted previously. Please Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, please admit them at next years induction ceremonies and reverse the indignity of not having one of the best and most influential groups of the 50's in your Hall.

The reason I just listed it as Johnny Burnette and didn't mention the Rock and Roll Trio is if you look at allmusic.com which I think is pretty complete as far as discographies - they only listed one album by the Trio, whereas Johnny Burnette had many albums listed including his 25 Greatest Hits (that I see for sale on Amazon as I write this) which includes hits from the Trio. I'll let the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Committee decide how to name his entry, but for this poll, suffice it to say that a vote for Johnny Burnette = a vote for the Trio as well.

This listing needs to be "Johnny Burnette & the Rock and Roll Trio." Johnny Burnette as a solo artist is nowhere near being a rock and roll hall of famer, but the group, the Rock & Roll Trio (Johnny Burnette, Dorsey Burnette & Paul Burlison) merit serious consideration.
