 | leegee (0) 05/13/2006 | Vonage was OK for a while but now with foreign - and poorly trained - personnal I am looking for another supplier. I have two separate lines and after 40++ hours of begging for help I am no better off. Oh! I did return a modem and got billed $$85+ for a new one - which didnt help. And one of the lines is useless - packet loss 70%. Vonage doesnt care about that. Actually there are almost a dozen problems with my Vonage service! And forget their WiFi phone. It is useless. Anyone want to recommend another VoIP provider?

 | mimieux (0) 03/29/2006 | i was a fool. i left vonage and went with sunrocket. i admit it. i was seduced by the promise of savings.
after less than a week of using sunrocket i came running back to vonage begging.
i never had a problem with them. i had them for 15 months and not once was i without service because of vonage ( i had some issues with my internet connection but that's another story)
great customer service. easy setup. reliable service.

 | apeters2525 (0) 12/15/2005 | I have had no issues calling anyone or anywhere. Sure, quality is not the same as if you picked up the land-lined phone, but it is not far off. I make calls locally and internationally with no problems. When I call Czech Republic, it sounds the same as if she was across teh street. I very rarely have to reset my phone adapter, and when I do it is a result of crap service from Charter (yup, I have my opinion on them).
Best bang for your buck! No better way to screw Big Companies like Verizion like getting vonage! Hey, wanna call Canada? Come on over and use my phone, doesnt cost me a dime extra! ;)

 | Kairho (11) 10/20/2005 | Bought the system to be able to make reasonable phone calls to Africa. First major problem was the quality sucked for the first 6 (yes, six!) months. And this is domestic US quality, even across the street, not international. I kept telling them the modem was bad but they insisted on running their little tests and stupid questions (is it plugged in, sir?) and trying to blame my network. Finally they yielded and sent a new modem. That fixed it immediately.
But still terrible conditions to several countries in Africa and they finally admitted "some" international quality "issues." I try to cancel and they offer 6 free months, which is a good sales move. I took them up on it. Unfortunately, after 6 months, quality never improved and I terminated for good last week.

 | TJGypsy2 (7) 10/12/2005 | I can't recommend this service for people who use their phone a lot, as we've had numerous small (but annoying) problems. The biggest one is the fact that if we let the phone sit for any length of time, we have to unplug and reboot the adapter. I don't know for sure if this is a Vonage problem or an adapter problem, since I couldn't find any answers on Vonage's website. However, if you live alone, or you don't rely on your phone as a lifeline, the price is certainly much better than you're likely to get with your local phone company, even if you go with their basic service. I like the price plans with Vonage, but we are going to be switching back to Qwest due to quality issues. Perhaps it will get better as it gets more popular.
(Side note, our quality problems may be due to our high speed connection, as we use a wireless high speed option provided by a small local company, as opposed to cable. Thought you should know)
