I always liked this name for a dog, assuming that it looks like a bear of course. It usually sounds like it could be a great guard dog, so strangers are usually cautious around it.

If your dog is big and lovable, name him Bear. If he is big and eats small children, better not go with Bear. Maybe Psycho or Killer. Bear is a nice dog.
