 | ACLJ (3) 10/23/2006 | A pretty good name for a dog. I think Elizabeth Montogomery from "Bewitched" started the whole Sam/Sammy dog name thing. The name's quite popular with the people I hang out with.

 | kamylienne (77) 05/15/2006 | "Samantha" was the name of one of our patients at the clinic I work at, and though I know I shouldn't pick favorites, it's kind of hard not to when you see that goofy smiling Golden Retriever face as she stands on her hind legs to say "hi" at the counter.
She died of cancer a few months ago (as, unfortunately, Goldens are apt to do; lymphoma is a big issue with them). Her loving family did everything they could for her, but they knew when she was too far gone.
I adopted a gerbil yesterday; I decided to name her after Sammy. It's a good name, with good memories to go with it.

 | Vudija (92) 05/15/2006 | I like the name, but have never actually met a dog with this name. I've heard it more for siamese cats than for anything else. It just strikes me better as a cats name.

 | HistoryFan (98) 12/12/2005 | My neighbor's dog was named Sammy. Unfortunately, several months ago, Sammy had cancer and she had to be put down by Animal Hospice :(

 | Molfan (57) 10/14/2005 | Sam or Sammy is a good name for a dog. I know a male dog named Sam. and a girl dog named Samantha "sammy" as a nickname. It is a good sound name for a dog.
