I ordered my pizza from a location in Puyallup, WA. I have ordered from another location in the past it was great! This place is, not so good. The pizza was cold and old and I didn't get my all of my order. Not to mention a comment from the driver that irked me. I don't plan on going back to them again!

This place does not exist. There is no manager and no complaint department. It is a phantom online pizza company with no obligations. We ordered several pizzas and what was ordered were the wrong thing. Many people got food poising and one of our group was hospitalized and nearly died. We still have not been able to find out who is responsible because of the online runaround. I would be real careful. This company has no real management.Food poising in DenverJJ

First and last time customer. Ordered delivery, took over 10 minutes to get through the website to checkout. 50 min for delivery. Ordered 20 oz Dr. Pepper and got 2 L Mr. Pibb – which is not comparable. Ordered pepperoni and bacon pizza and got pepperoni and sausage. Requested parmesan cheese and got red pepper flakes. And as a bonus they added a pepperoncini to my cheese pizza box – I’m allergic to peppers. When I called to request the correct pizza be sent, they would rather give an account credit than correct the order; what good is an account credit when I never plan to use Papa John’s again?

I love pappa John's!!! But SOOOOO very dissapointed that they took the whole wheat crust off the menu! When we are going to eat unhealthy (Pizza!:)) than we like the healthier choices and we are know driving the extra 8 miles to pick up pizza with the whole wheat crust from a local family owned.

I ordered a large pie with 5 toppings... double pepperoni, double sausage, and bacon. You would think that it would come overflowing with toppings. You would think wrong here. The total amount of toppings were little more than for a single topping at other pizza places. I was severely disappointed. It's doubtful that I will be going back there.

Papa Johns has some decent pizza, BUT THEY HAVE THE ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE, AND BAIT YOU IN WITH BULLSHIT COUPONS THAT THEY DONT HONOR............. I JUST PLACED AN ORDER FOR A LARGE ONE TOPPING PIZZA AND MENTIONED THE SPECIAL I SAW ON THE INTERNET FOR $6.99...... I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE , BECAUSE THE PIZZA GUY TOLD ME IT HAD TO BE ORDERED ONLINE TO GET THE SPECIAL.....DOES IT SAY THAT ON THE WEBSITE???????? NO!!!!!!!!! WHEN I ASKED IF THE PIZZA COULD WOULD GET HERE AS FAST IF I ORDERED IT ONLINE WHAT DID HE SAY??????? "I DONT KNOW" THEY HAVE WEASLED THERE WAY OUT OF SEVERAL SPECIALS IN THE PAST, WHETHER THEY BE ONLINE OR OUT OF THE NEWSPAPER. NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER FROM PAPA JOHNS, IT WOULD BE LESS TROUBLE TO MAKE THE PIZZA MYSELF

Never in my life have I let a food delivery and human incompetence getme worked up. But tonight Kitchener, Ontario Papa John's really tookthe cake!I booked my pizza order online at 8pm...a pricey as anything, but Iwas sold just to try it.An hour and 25 mins later, I get a call on my cell phone. I can'tunderstand the guy, but I think he's down stairs...so I run down tolet him in...nope, not there...so i call him back...he says he'soutside, I tell him i'm at the door and there i no one in sight.Honest mistake, even if my apartment was on the same street at thePapa's and 10 blocks away...so I stay on the phone with the guy, telling him every land mark in sight - Being literally 20 feet fromCity hall being the main one. Nope. No comprehend.Minutes pass, and he hangs up on me in the middle of his humming andhawing and mumbling. I try calling back, no answer, tried one moretime...nothing again.I'm about to head back in when I realize my keys are on my table andmy auto lock door is closed because I was chasing a delivery guy whogot lost 10 blocks from his home base. (even if he was close, i wouldhave saw him.he was no where in sight...not even on the right block.)after 2 hours of being stuck outside, i get in to get the papa'snumber, i call them and get a friendly fellow who offers me breadsticks as soon as he answers the phone...i asked him what was up with the pizza and explained what happened.(now hungry as a horse!) The guy says "he couldn't find your place, itwas a bad address." - I told him i was standing in that address and onthe street and didnt see him...the guy on the phone develops a bit of an attitude and says "gimme aminute, i'll talk to the driver..."8-10 mins pass while i'm on hold. WAY more than enough time toinvestigate the pizza issue.so i hang up and call back. the same guy answers on the first ring andsays "hold please" and puts me on hold. I hang up and call back...thisgoes on for 15 mins or so. (i was just working on principal after the2nd time.) at one point i shouted "NOOO" when they said "hold, the guystopped and said "what...?" and i said "wheres my pizza?" and he hungup.FINALLY the next time i call they actually answer the phone likenothing happened with the "pappa's" phone answering speal...as if theyweren't looking at the call display this time (as they were the first30 times)finally i ask this guy "where is the customer service papa's statesthey have on their site?"he says "you know what buddy, you should have called back about yourpizza 2 hours ago! don't call here again."I will never call there again.I went into the pizza pizza that i live right above. I should havewent there in the first place. They have whole wheat crust, glutenfree crust as well as crispy crust on top of their regular dough - ontop of that, they have WAY more toppings and they have WAY betterprices...what was I thinking trying to switch Papa John's?never again.

I used to like Papa John's.That was until I called to order a '2 for Tuesday' pizza advertised in a local ad. All I wanted was the featured pizza in the ad, times 2.The dumbass on the phone told me the computer/register would not allow him to apply the '2 for' discount to the featured pizza. I asked to talk to the manager. He said he was the manager.I asked to talk to his boss and was given a phone number that went to voice mail. I left a message.I got a call back from the District Manager the next day. He explained to me that the 'regular menu price was not the menu price of the monthly featured pizza.Domino's Pizza had an almost duplicate ad. 2 for Tuesday AND a featured pizza. I ordered from them AND got the featured pizza, buy one get one free.I emailed Papa John's corporate with this information asking for an explanation of why they are scamming people in their advertising with NO response. From now on it's Domino's and NEVER again Papa John's ad scamming screw the customer attitude.Did I mention that I think they suck? Oh, no, i didn't.THEY SUCK!

This was my first time ordering from Papa Johns. My wife and I ordered a Large HandTossed Garden Veggie with extra sauce. I must admit that initally I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but boy was I surprised! When " Papa John" during his commerical advertisements says "Better Ingredients" he really means it. This is definitely true and you can taste the difference between the ingredients freshness and quality compared to other Mass Producers like Pizza Hut and Domino's. I would even say that the pizza's toppings I ordered rivaled Sammy's Woodfired or California Pizza Kitchen's Quality. I ordered from the Temecula, CA Papa Johns, however being a company chain I would expect a similar quality from other Papa Johns. I used to work as a driver in high school and college for Pizza Hut, Domino's and Woodstock's Pizza (Santa Barbara), but I had never tried Papa John's Pizza before. Ouch!!! I should have tried them and I probably would have quit driving for their competitor's and tried to get a driving job for Papa John's for the free pizza alone! If you love Veggie Pizza's, I say you are crazy not to give this a go! The extra sauce is a fantastic addition that adds few calories and imparts great flavor - A Must for every Veggie Lover!!! Thank you Papa JOHN!

Oh my gosh, I ordered a 10 inch small pizza with mushrooms. It used to be really good pizza when I lived in the Pacific Beach area. I don't live at the beach any more, so I ordered a pizza at another location. I was so hungry for some good pizza; man I was so disappointed in the quality and taste. When I opened the box, it didn't even look good or appealing. The crust was overdone, and there was only one dried out mushroom. To top it off, the pizza was not hot, and I only live less than 2 miles away. With the delivery charge, it came to $13.18 for a small 10 in. small pizza. The delivery service was great, however, and I gave the young man a great tip. He most likely didn't make the pizza. The workers need some better instruction on making the pizza. Sorry but I can't recommend this pizza based on my recent experience.

Best Sauce in the Business, and the most toppings!
TheCavsfan 11/13/2008
The pizza sends me to the john. That is how Papa John's got their name. It is also on the expensive side. Do not waste your money. Instead, look for a local price. You will probably find better service and pizza because they do not have a national reputation.
twansalem 08/23/2008
Papa John's was the pizza of choice for my friends when I was an undergrad, as they gave the best student discounts, and they also were the quickest delivery. I like the peppers and garlic sauce that they always give you with the pizza, but I don't like their crust.
Doctor of Madness 08/22/2008
Less offensive that the other chains. It is an edible pizza and they deliver well.

We were in OC helping my uncle who has terminal cancer. On the way back from the hospice center, my mother and I stopped in at the La Paz location to order a takeout pizza - an extra large pizza with pepperoni and double cheese. The gentleman who took our order let us know it would be about 15 minutes, so we paid and sat down in the restaurant to wait. Twenty-five minutes later, my mother went up to the woman at the register and inquired about our pizza. She asked what name it was under and my mother explained that she wasn't asked to give her name, so it wasn't under a name. The woman looked confused and then went back to look for our order. After conferring with several other gentlemen in the back, she asked Mom to reiterate our order. Mom let the woman know that we ordered an extra large pizza with pepperoni and double cheese. The woman then went back again to some other gentlemen in the back (we had now been on-premises for 35 minutes) and one gentleman pulled out a pizza that had been sitting on the shelf, cooked, for awhile and said "This is pepperoni with double cheese" and then opened the box for us to view. The pizza looked like it had double pepperoni, not double cheese, but at that point we were exhausted and just wanted to eat dinner. Once we got home, we looked at the label on the side of the box, noted the "Pepperoni Pepperoni" notation and realized that we had received a pizza with cheese and double pepperoni, not pepperoni and double cheese. The pizza itself was subpar - the tomato sauce was far too sweet, as was the crust. Also, while we sat waiting for our order, we noted that the woman we dealt with at the front allowed the phone to ring no less than eleven times prior to answering it (very bad customer service) - this happened at least twice. Also, we noted that one of the delivery man's trucks required a push start as he was not able to start the truck on his own - also very unprofessional. In all, after our bad customer service experience with this Papa John's location, we will not be returning to patronize any Papa John's in the future. We were very disappointed on many levels.

They could have faxed me a picture of their pizza and it proably would have tasted better. Lousy stupid kids work in the local store and I say to hell with this outfit. You couldn't PAY me the $20 to take their sloppy pizza. And God knows what goes in the kitchen with these stupid kids in there.

I just started working at the store in as a driver. I think that the people there are a little too immature. They are always playing around and when some food dropped on the floor they put it in the box still!! how gross!! i just need the money right now, but all they do is bullshit around and go for a smoke break every 5 mins. They are almost all under 21 (including the managers). I watch them make my food if i order cuz i dont want ANYTHING to happen to my food. I think that most people here are nice to the customers, but I can see some of them being rude, even the managers. At my store some of the employees dont care about anything. If they dont pay for the pizza or whatever, they dont care cuz they dont pay for it..

About 15 years ago I tried a Papa John's pizza and it was awful! I recently decided to give them another chance and ordered a couple of pizzas for my husband and I. Ugh, they still stink!! There is no flavor in the sauce, no oregano, nothing! That's what it tastes like anyway. I cannot figure out the attraction for so many people?!? Why would they repeatedly purchase and eat suck flavorless pizza??

worste customer service experience. i live 3.4 miles away from the nearest of 3 locations, yet im out of the delivery area. i decided to carry out anyway but when i got there i wasnt helped. the had 9 staff yet none weree interested in working. after standing at the couter starring at my order for over 10 mins they gave it to me but without the soda. i asked about it and they said i didnt order any. when i got home i checked via the repeat last order(my first and last). it clearly stated i ordered and paid for the soda. i called and was put on hold for another 10mins. when i asked about it again te gave me attitude and said if i wanted to come back i could pick it up... other areas are probably better but if your in olympia there are plenty of better options.

I like Papa Johns ok but the main reason I like them is that they are the only ones that deliver to my house in the boonies. However....even though the pizza isn't bad...they have gotten my order wrong a number of times. So much for glad they deliver.

Great Pizza! I just purchased the 5 way xl from Papa John's on Huntington Ave in Monrovia, CA. Is it as good as the private Ma and Pop operations, no. It is, however, very good tasting and the service and delivery were very professional!
Lifelove 12/10/2007
The flavor and texture of the pizzas is good. But lately it seems like every time I order from Papa John's, they burn the cheese. And then they give you lip about remaking the pizza. Very disappointing.

I picked up an order last friday at the Massillon Ohio location and the employees were very nice. This one guy the manager maybe cuz he was wearing a different hat even talked to my kids. then he let me see my order before i paid for it. I got free plates and napkins cuz "who orders pizza and does dishes?" and on the way out the door a driver carried my pizza for me and told me "see you next week." What a classy place. The lobby was very clean and the workers were very busy making orders. My only complaint is the price but for the whole experience and professionalism it is very worth it when I use my coupons. I am sorry that so many people hate papa johns but I for one will keep ordering from my hometown papa johns every friday. 5 STARS
hideme84913 11/01/2007
The only reason I'm giving two stars is because my boyfriend works there, but it is terrible. The sauce is from cans like everywhere else... The wings & chicken are frozen and taste like freezer bite. The cleanliness is nonexistent. The staff? laughable. Don't get me wrong I know a few of them, but lets just say Papa John's should have them finish high school before giving them full time hours for the same pay for years... The staff that do have high school degrees have a stick stuck up their asses and see themselves as though they were on pedestal. They are rude and arrogant jackasses. ESPECIALLY THE GM AT THE DAMASCUS, MD STORE!!! (ok. He's new and whatever, so we dont know each other at all... but he had the fucking nerve to call my phone and tell me that am not allowed to call the store! wtf? I was calling about a pizza before and he denied it and then he bans me from calling? THE DAMASCUS PAPA JOHNS IS TERRIBLE!

I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW ANY OF THE PIZZA CHAINS STAY IN BUSINESS IN THE NEW YORK CITY AREA. THEY OFFER NOTHING MORE THAN FOZEN PIZZA QUALITY. IT'S LIKE COMPARING "SPAM" TO BAKED HAM. IT'S NOT ANY CHEAPER EITHER . THEIR SAUCE REEKS OF POWDERED GARLIC AND JARRED TOMATO SAUCE. THE CHEESE IS ALSO ARTIFICIAL. IF YOU LIVE IN NYC AND ARE STUPID OR LAZY ENOUGH TO ORDER IT, YOU DESERVE IT

At around 10:20 p.m. tonight, I called the Poppa Johns at 3361 East Tremont Ave. in the Bronx, NY at telephone number 718-518-7272 and placed an order. Around 11:45 p.m., I called back because my order had not yet arrived. The guy told me that he was very sorry and that I wouldnt have to pay for the order but that I would have to wait for another 20 minuets. Needless to say, I am still waiting like a jack ass! Pissed beyond capacity, I am searching desperately to find an area of help to voice my complaint I came across this site. I seriously doubt that what I post will change anything, bring this disgusting experience to justice but I will not stop until Poppa Johns does something about this. I am so sick and tired of seeing these fast food places with their lack of professionalism, bad hygiene and disgusting attitudes go on without reprimand. Lets face it if the consumer decides to stop eating at these places there would be some major job losses. It is now 1:01 a.m. and my order finally arrived, COLD AND UN APOLOGETIC; they even wanted me to come outside to pick it up. UNBELIEVABLE; WE MUST STOP THIS INJUSTICE!
lesang23 09/11/2007
I like their pizza a lot but I cant believe that they have the most mean and rude workers ever. Because that I'm a full time student and those with disability, I'm begin to be on very tight budget this month. So, I expect them to deliver to my house. I order online without giving them tip, just for this time. I cant believe the delivery man all suddenly ask for tips. Another problem is that I order by phone and the lady sound very mean she said "be sure to give tip to the delivery guy and be nice to him". I mean why are they so rude? i would give it to them if they dont ask. And the third probelm is its been an hour late and the pizza is really cold. I have never had this problem at any pizza place i've ordered. From now on I will never order from there anymore. After reading most of the comments I believe its about 70% of every papa johns place are somewhat rude to the customer while manager are strict to the workers. I guess they will lose 5-10% of customer ever year.

I work at Papa Johns in Winterville NC, and I am misstreated by my boss. I told him that I can only work a certain amount b/c I am a full time student and still has me work 30 hours a week. He thinks my education is not important. I asked off work for the first time for a teacher workshop, two weeks in advance, and he cersed at me and made me cry. then told me i can never ask off work again! DONT EVER EAT PAPA JOHNS IN WINTERVILLE!!

I was babysitting my grandchildren 2 and 5. They wanted a cheese pizza for lunch. So I ordered them one from Papa Johns which is about 3 miles from there house. They order from there a couple times a week. I live in the next little town next to Mooresville NC about 10 miles from there. But bank in Mooresville. When the pizza arrived I had made out my check. The girl said I cant take an out of town check. I didnt have enough cash with me. She said you can call and pay for it with a credit card. So I called and was told no that has to be done when you place the order. I told the guy I have paid for pizza alot of times with my check and there had not ever been a problem. I have two little ones standing there looking at this pizza. And they refused to take a card or the check. He said this is your choices. I had to let them take the pizza back while the kids stood there. I called the manager he knows how many times my daughter orders from there. And they where just ugly about it. I will never order pizza from there again or will my daughter. And we will tell everyone we know. My son-inlaw ownes two companys there and we deal with alot of people. I hope Papa Johns is willing to loose alot of customers. They lost a sale and had to throw away a pizza. I will never forget the look in those two kids face. When they left with there pizza. dlg

Got 2 wrong pizzas with no apology: Well, below is the complaint i sent electronically to papa johns: I had a very unpleasant experience with one of your employees yesterday. Yesterday, I ordered two Works pizzas, and it had toppings like tomatoes and other stuff that i didn't expect to be on. And of course, it tasted different from what i usually had with Works. Naturally, i thought you guys made a mistake and called the store. Now, when this female employee of yours picked up and i told her that the pizza's different from what i ordered, she said they were originally making veggie pizzas, but then realized these were not supposed to be veggies, so they added works toppings on top of it because they didn't want to do them re-over. AND THEN she said very rudely that we "got a better deal" since it had extra toppings on it and talked as if why are we complaining. i'm sorry but extra toppings are not what i requested in the first place and this pizza tasted nothing like the works i had before, and i hate tomatoes in the first place (there's a reason when people order different stuff), and what i had expected was a simple apology for making such mistake. NO! she kept insisting rudely that we got the better deals, and we almost ended up apologizing for calling the store to the manager. you guys need to educate your employees better. If you guys made a mistake making a right pizza, you guys are not suppose to say and rudely insist we "got a better deal" like that making us feel bad for calling. you guys are suppose to apologize at very least. i'm sorry but even the taste was different. i would'nt even be writing this in the first place if she wasn't so rude about all this. I have ordered from Papa Johns for a long time because my previous experiences with your employees weren't so great...and we only recently re-started ordering, but i'm sorry but your employees are very rude and i haven't had such bad experiences like this with other stores. and i got an automatic reply from papa johns this message was sent to the store in question for review and they should be contacting me soon... which hasn't happened

I love Papa John's pizza. I don't mind picking up pizza instead of delivery. However when I'm relaxing at home I prefer for my pizza to be delivered. I just moved to a new home where Papa Johns is only .93 miles away. The first time my neighbor and I ordered pizza, we waited 45 minutes and they called us back and told us they do not deliver to our neighborhood. So we were upset. We were starved. We tried calling the 1.800 number, but apparently there isn't one. So we looked on the web and noticed we were only .93 miles away from the Papa Johns. So we called the next day and spoke to the manager. She said that her drivers were afraid to drive to our neighborhood and she couldn't make them drive there. Well apparently (I live in New Orleans, btw) before Katrina, the neighborhood was really bad. But it's not the case any more. So we were basically stuck at a loss because they wouldn't deliver to us. We are only .93 miles away!!

I had the luxury of eating at a resturaunt named papa john's aka "Dirty Johns" as I have come to call it.AS I was watching the people make pizza I happened to noticed that one of the workers was putting ice breakers into his mouth and after he was done he went straight to making the pizza WITHOUT EVEN WASHING HIS HANDS!so once I saw that I decided to get a refund as I the cashier was explaing the refund policy to me he was wiping the mucus out of his nose with his hands. He then gestured with his hand and wiped his nose again. This was the same person who was suppose to make my pizza in the first place. I asked him to let one of the other guys do it, "Mr. Icebreaker", instead of him because after taking my order he did not even wash his hands. I was so DISGUSTED by this I just asked for my money back. i swear I will never eat at papa john's again. Or as I have come to refer to them as "DIRTY JOHN'S". The store is located on Jimmy Carter Blvd in Norcross GA. If you eat at this location your taking your own life in your hands.

Don't bother ordering a 16" XL pizza, the extra two inches is just more crust, instead, order a 14" large thin crust. Thin crust doesn't have a crust, so the pizza maker is forced to put an adequate amount of cheese and toppings. If you order an XL, all your getting is a 3-4 inch crust with little toppings or cheese. Also, like a previous poster said, Popa Johns puts a very small amount of toppings on a 2-for-1 deal. It's not fair, but they do it anyway.

well to say the least i am extremely disappointed. last friday i ordered a xl special and it was fantastic. The experience form the telephone order to the delivery guy was awesome. This week i ordered the same and it was burned and dry. i ordered at the store and took it home. I ordered extra cheese; how does an extra cheese pizza be dry? unfortunately, i didn't check it before i left; won't make that mistake ever again. Also, the girl who took my order was rude and not very pleasant . i was looking for another great experience but now i won't eat pappa johns especially for the price i paid and got less than satisfied.:(

I can only rate the one in Naples Florida, which is why it gets only a 2 star. It's only slightly better than the local Hungry Howie's (which is infested with roaches and in the process of being shut-down by the health dept.), but I guess that doesn't say much for the Papa John's there, huh?

a monster built on a lie.Better ingredients? Better than what?Perhaps better than the dumpster behind the grocery store. Dough is prefabbed goo. Sauce is glorified ketchup from a can. Cheese is bottom shelf rubbery crap. Pepperoni is so thin cut, it is translucent instead of opague.Other meat topping are mass produced rabbit dropping style.Garlic sauce is a combination of grade F margarine mixed with stale cheap garlic powder.Yeeccckkk!! Calling it pizza is deceptive. Those who like it,simply do not know what real and good pizza is.The folks in Naples and those who brought pizza to America years ago, would not even recognize this this mutant abomination called papa johns. It is overpriced. The employees are mostly douchebags.Papa Johns-Another One of Life's Mysteries. Zero Stars!

The pizza itself is not too bad but the I think the price is a little to high and the delivery takes a little bit to long.
