3.5, maybe a 4. Most of their star players from the Series winning year before were either free agents or were about to command high salaries. Most of them were traded or allowed to leave, and few impact players were around the following season, when they put up an awful record, though some of the youngsters on this very bad but not quite all time mega- awful club eventually developed into solid major leaguers. A story as old as pro baseball itself, there are many previous examples- successful team stripped by greedy or unscrupulous owner.

This was the year after they won the World Series. Simply unacceptable, even though they did give away most of the players from that team.
