I don't know for certain what the problem is with this franchise, who seem to be the latter day St. Louis Browns. They come up with talented, sought after, everyday players like Crawford and Baldelli but just don't seem to be able to develop good young pitching. They've been around for almost a decade, but haven't been able to take it to the next level. They have only finished out of the cellar once in their existence. This team was quite dreadful, the worst of their many bad squads, but I wouldn't consider it amongst the very worst ever.
