 | FranksWildYears (58) 12/12/2006 | Music has the ability to express what words cannot. Music elicits a purely emotional response in the listener, which is pure and honest. Words require a rational evaluation of what was expressed in order to draw a reaction. Music can affect the whole range of feeling whereas only a truly gifted writer or orator can affect someone to such an extent with words. Of course music can also be used to sedate people in elevators and put them in a purchasing mood at the mall so its not all Handel's Messiah.

 | numbah16tdhaha (156) 03/20/2006 | Music is one of the only things that can get a consistant reaction from me. It can make me happy, sad (very few things can do this), and yes, ANGRY. (numbah thrashes wildly) It can psych me up or calm me down. It can challenge me to think or help me forget everything around me. Damn, music is cool.

 | CastleBee (85) 10/27/2005 | I really believe that enjoying music can be an important factor contributing to our overall mental health. I have come to appreciate most types of music over the years and I have even been moved to tears by some when I least expected it. For instance some opera - even when sung in a language I don't understand or, even more inexplicable - completely instrumental pieces.

 | Gentle Jude (25) 10/19/2005 | Of course, it all depends on which music you listen to. If it is music you like, it can be one of the most satisfying experiences. I tend to like music that touches me and is so full of love. There are just certain tunes that can make you feel loved or as if you were in heaven, even if the song wasn't intended to be that way. Music is a very powerful tool and it can make you feel any way you want to feel. It can scare you, energise you, bore you, make you laugh etc. There is just something powerful about music because music was originally from Heaven ie God invented music. That in itself shows me what a satisfying thing it is.
