This is first rate--the first payback on all the work and sacrifice that you expended in your schooling. Of course, then the regular bills start coming due and that continues for the rest of your life.

While every paycheck is rewarding, the first paycheck is extremely satisfying. I got my first real paycheck at sixteen and I still remember how great it felt. It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship!

Sometimes this feels good, sometimes it's downright infuriating.

I'd say it is an emotionally satisfying experience. I was happy the first day I got it even though it was some measley ammount of money. Now I just look at the paper and then violently toss it in the garbage can.

I can't believe this still rates below drugs....The reward for a job well done.

Any pay check is satisfying but the first one can be, because it makes you feel like an adult, especially if it is the first one that you've ever gotten. But if it isn't as much as you were meant to get, or you focus on the tax taken, then this is not so satisfying.

. . .not as good as my last one. . .

It was nice enough, but of course I had to think "Who is this FICA guy and why is he taking all that much out of my check?" Up until then, I worked for my parents, mostly under the table. But, between working at a photo lab and pulling grueling late hours at a restaurant in the summer, I figured I'd rather put up with the taxes.

This brings back memories. I distinctly remember that $41.17 check. I was rich!

It introduced my youngest daughter to the world of taxes. She was incensed that so much of her first $300.00 paycheck went to withholding taxes. She asked me which party would work for lower taxes. I had to plead "no comment. "

The first paycheck is satisfying as long as you aren't expecting less than what you get. I honestly feel that every paycheck is extremely satisfying as well.
