My cat is like a living, breathing toy to me. Keeps me company, makes me laugh and makes me relax when I am tense. Perhaps I myself am a toy to my cat. Who knows?

I've always had pets.Right now I only have one I live in a tiny apartment. But she is my pride and joy,she is a Border collie,I've had her 9 years. And one thing I can count on is her meeting me at the front door when I walk in.she's part of my family. But around a month ago she startred having trouble walking so I took her to the DR,who said she has hip displaysia, anand if I gave her meds she could live another year..wrong I had to pay to put her in a boarding home while im in kansas for xmas because the vet said she would have to be put to sleep under the plane with the retstof the luggage. And she would not go for that at all,nor wold I subject her to it.
Menawhile this cute german shepard starts hanging around my home and I feed it,then notice it's ears are actually bleeding..so i try to fingure out who she belongs to,and could not.the next day I took her back to the vet they put her on CIPRO 2 times a day, then vetalog twice a day for an ear infection.she felt better right away so I plan to sedate her on my plane trip to kansas. They managed to get her to her connecting flight before mine and she srrived 5 hours before me,but my brother will take very good care of her i know,I can tell she had beeen misstreated before,But now Im dreading putting my border collie to sleep after the new year. wow i got way off topic ,but to answer the question I think its most satisfying to have an animal that cares you and I,and you for it,I just think Im going to be one depressed girl after the holidays

Pets can be pests, I still dig them.

My dog is my best friend. I have had him only since April, but he is the most loving and wonderful family member! I take him to work with me where I am a taxi dispatcher. He lets me know when someone is there, he can hear them before I do. He's a great little protector! I buy only the best food for him. My dog is overjoyed to see me at the end of the day when I don't take him with me to work. This is the true meaning of 'unconditional love'. Get a pet, it will enrich your life.

Animals are great, but I have no desire to have a pet right now. I already have a young child to take care of, so a pet who sheds and pees all over the place isn't my idea of adding joy to my life.

Animals are great! I have a solid white cat that lives with me at home and a tortoise colored cat that lives at my workplace; they are very special and bring extra joy to my life.

This Superbowl Sunday, and I am sitting in the television room with my trusty, Black Lab, Fido, and my misanthropic cat, Angus. Both are lying at my feet and we are waiting for the game. This is special.

No matter the period of my life, I have always had pets. Right now, I have 9 cats and 2 dogs...most of which came to me as strays. I live in the middle of nowhere and people are constantly abandoning unwanted animals on my street. I became home for the lost and lonely; I simply LOVE animals...

A good pet is one of the best friends you can have.He or she can teach us about unconditional love. They never put you down, argue with you (well, almost never!),or try to lay a guilt trip on you for going out with the guys (or girls). We also learn from our pets that humans are not the only ones with feelings and emotions, that all life is sacred and miraculous and that what really counts in life is a bowl of food, shelter from the elements and LOVE.

I think pets are so fun but of course they're a lot of work to go with it.

The dogs are always loyal and trusting. Cant go wrong with a dog. They love unconditionally. As for other pets, animals in general are very good influences. I stayed out of less trouble in school because of the responsibility of caring for three horses. Animals are often used as therapy for sick and elderly. People with animals live longer.

they sure can be. Our two dogs have brought a lot of enjoyment to our lives. they ask for so little and give so much. Cannot imagine not having them. even the sometimes little annoyances are worth it.

Yes definitely. Pets keep you company and can even save your life believe it or not! They have a calming affect and it is believed that people who own pets have less stress than those who don't.

You adopt them. They are a part of the family. They share their lives with you, and you share yours with them. A lady told me that it is silly to take something into your life when that something doesn't live as long as a person. It's just heartbreaking and cruel, in her eyes. But, we know this when we make that commitment to care of these animals. Yes, it hurts when we lose them, deeply, but hopefully the time you've spent with them, all the great memories, is worth the hurt of losing them.

Caring for pets can increase self-worth, and there's also great satisfaction in enjoying the affection and companionship of pets. Pets love so easily and innocently;they're devoted to you if you provide them food and and a pat on the head now and then.

When you don't have kids, pets are surrogates. And they can be just as satisfying, although at a different level.
