Too often people forget, criticism can be in the form of positive feedback as well. When someone does the right thing - regardless of what age they are - let them know!

This is great and one of the things which can motivate a person. It is just so nice knowing that there are people who appreciate and even like you. That is a thing to get up for!

(Assuming that the recognition is positive) This can be nice, to be seen as something "above and beyond" in your field, whether it be in the classroom or in the workplace or elsewhere. But, hopefully, the recognition is for all the right reasons, and not just for popularity.
