Toots and the Maytals invented reggae. Some may not know them first hand, but every song with reggae roots has a little bit of Toots deep inside. One of the best shows around, got to catch a legend. Can't beat the reggae version of "country roads" either! If you are "new" to Toots - buy the greatest hits. The newest album "True Love" is good too and if you need star power, Trey Anastasio, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, Ben Harper, The Roots, and more all sit in. I know some of you watch Miami Ink too, the theme song is Toots. There is no good reason to stay ignorant about this band.

Saw them recently at Reggae on the River. They put on a good show. One of the few big time roots bands still playing.
