11/21/2005 | Certainly not stupid. He's quick, articulate, and an adroit politician. It's easy to blame the state of affairs in the UK on Tony Blair, but then again, I suspect that certain people would claim just as loudly that Maggie Thatcher started it all to begin with. The truth is, that for as much as I like the UK and the Brits in general, as a nation they do engage in some pretty flaky political behavior. It's taken a long time for theem to screw things up to the point that they are - high taxes, lousey socialized medicine, a hell of a mess with their immigration policies, and I believe low industrial productivity. Don't blame it all on Blair. If there is anything even remotely stupid about the man, it's that he's trying to fix a dorked-up system.
