The first Matrix movie is still one of the coolest movies I ever watched. It shouldn't be on this list. The sequels should be, though.

Not a bad movie at all. Impressive in that the whole was greater than the sum of the parts. Odd, confusing plot, bad acting by K. Reeves, silly dialogue, etc...is somehow subsumed in the ground-breaking special effects, fight scenes and very effective gothic/cyberpunk atmosphere. Pretty good, overall; Matrix II and III belong on this list though.

The original was the best but they really should have stopped after the first one. Everything else that was Matrix related got progressively worse. Especially the Animatrix.

Totally on the wrong list. When a movie like this breaks ground in special effects and storytelling tactics, I can't see tossing it onto a worst of aall time list. True, it's no Star Wars, but it's brilliant in its own way. The sequals complemented it nicely, as well. For those who dig cyberpunk and stuff along the same vein, this is the movie series for the late 90's and early 00's. :)

This one is on the wrong list. The movie was stylistic and very creative. The idea was perfect for the late 90's. Quality performances abounded. The follow ups (movies II and III) were pretty lame but The Matrix is one of the top dozen films of the past decade.

While certainly derivative of The Terminator and other films, I liked this thought provoking and evocative movie: in spite of the presence of Keanu Reeves, who is about as good of an actor as Granville Waiters was as a basketball player. Now, the sequels, especially the third, do belong on this list.
