The Exorcist 3 4

The Exorcist part 3 (Legion) in my opinion is one of the most under rated films in cinama history. It's not a perfect film, but then agian, neither was the original as some might suggest. What we have here is a film with a mezmorizing performance by George C. Scott (and also one of his last), a complex but smart storyline, and some really fun scares. There are some downsides to the movie, but not many. The film is a little slow in some parts and the ending does seem a little rushed. But in the case of Exorcist 3, the good definetely out ways the bad. There are some really cool things that i liked about this movie. The first is the unique camra work that gives the film a creepy element. I also liked the dark colors used in the film. And with an eerie soundtrack added, it was more then enough to keep me intrested in the film. The reason i believe that this film didn't fare so well at the box office when it was released in 1990, was that it was compared to the original in an unfair way. People went to the movie thinking that they were going to see heads spinning around and pea soup flying everywhere, and the Michael Myers crowd (you know, the more gore less bore crowd) felt let down. Exorcist 3 was a smart film in the sense that it ignored the 2nd film all together (thank God). I liked the fact that the Detective Kinderman character came out to the forefront and away from the shadow of a side character in the first movie. Be warned though, Exorcist 3 is one of those movies where you have to pay attention or you'll get lost because of the complex story line, but if you stick with it, it all pays off in the end. Don't watch this movie until you've seen the first one. In conclusion, i believe Exorcist 3 is a powerful movie. It's a real shame that it never really caught on with movie goers. It's a film that will stay with me forever and will ask you at the end, Do demons really exist, and can they possess and manipulate human beings to carry out the agenda of the Devil himself? Nevertheless, a haunting film for the ages. - B.A.R.

The Exorcist 3 4

I didn't think it was really all that bad. I mean, it certainly wasn't good, but I think George C. Scott and Brad Dourif were ok in it, making it below average, but not rancid. It was watchable, and considerably better than the godawful 2nd film was.
