I believe it is sexist how highly qualified men like Michael Luttig are discriminated against because it politically looks good to nominate women. However if you are going to do so you might as well nominate a QUALIFIED women like Alice Batchelder, Pricila Owen, Janice Rogers Brown or Maureen Maloney not your personal lawyer who has no experience with constitutional law.

This makes no difference at all. Sandra Day O'Connor is an excellent justice;I wish Bush had nominated someone in her mold.

Absolutely irrelevant category. The presence or absence of a vagina has nothing to do with a person's the ability to interpret the Federal Constitution.

If this sort of criterion is important to you, so be it. It isn't a reason for me to be opposed to her nomination, though.
