These psychological tactics are used primarily to establish that the government authority is the boss and you have to follow orders. Sometimes, such tactics are needed, but in others, a simple word to correct the bad action is more than enough. Law enforcement should use discretion here.

i actually was able to record this happening. when my friends boyfriend and another friend came and got us because we were afraid the police pulled us over and continued to yell at us and my innocent friends. one of the friends was the one i had on the phone when the officer was threatening my son. he brought that up politely to the officer who had kept yelling at him for no reason. she then began to yell at me. the only thing was that she was not present until after they searched the apt and yet she acted like she was until my friend said that they were wrong pointing rifles at innocent women and telling me they were going to shoot my son and that he had heard it all and that he would be speaking to someone about their conduct is when she finally backed down.-----i did say innocent somewhere in my comment. im not saying so much that all they did was as extreme enough to be police misconduct but where is it when they cross the line and take their authority passed what they are allowed to do according to the law.

Hmm, perhaps they learned this one from FOX News.

Maybe I'm being naive here, but it seems logical to me that if you stay out of trouble you won't end up in a situation where a mean cop is yelling at you in a loud aggressive voice and cutting off your replies.

Did you mean to say police misconduct? I've known some educators who do this.
