 | scarletfeather (46) 06/20/2008 | It seems like their food tasted better when I was a kid. Back in the day, my high point of the weekend was grabbing a chocolate-covered ice cream cone after church. I'm not a big fan of theirs anymore, but I'll give them 4 stars for the memories.

 | Spike65 (11) 06/20/2008 | Before they switched to the DQ Brazier format, they were generally terrific. That was in the 1960's. Since then, I only by the ice cream treats. The peanut buster parfait and the fudge browny delight are great. Just don't eat very often or you will be huge!

 | g8rhoo (0) 05/31/2008 | Dairy Queen's food is underrated. Unfortunately, every Dairy Queen restaurant I've ever been in is filthy! Did they institute a corporate mandate that the tables should never be cleaned and the trash should never be picked up? And what about the flies? Still, I like the food, and the ice cream is good as well. (And now I'm feeling nauseous.)

 | Dishwallafied (8) 04/14/2008 | Their food is mediocre, but I looooove their ice cream. Chocolate Oreo Blizzard...mmmm. Too bad I don't live near one anymore...at least not one that has chocolate ice cream.

 | MrTuner (5) 03/04/2008 | Overall they are pretty good. I got a little sick of it though because I used to work there. I created my own blizzard while I worked there. It contains the following: Chocolate ice cream, cocoa fudge, chocolate syrup and a lot of brownie pieces. It tastes just like the brownie batter blizzard that they stoped making!

 | Molfan (57) 10/21/2007 | Pretty good except they go up in price every year. they have a good variety of icecream treats to choose from. Soft serve icecream cones to sundaes of all kinds of flavors, blizzards with different concoctions to make up. banana splits to other types of parfaits. even hotdogs and hamburgs. not a bad place some good tasting treats.even though I have had better icecream. if you can put up with the smart assed kids who work there at least at the one that is near us. they spend more time making fun of the customers and screwing off. otherwise the treats are okay. just avoid the one in a certain city in Michigan.

 | Redrum99 (0) 10/21/2007 | It's not dirt cheap. But it might be dirt. I don't go here anymore. Stopped by one time this year and got their Flamethrower, wow. It's a breaded chicken patty I could buy at grocery outlet covered in rank hot sauce. Thanks DQ, just what I wanted. I've never been a fan of DQ. Trying to turn it into DQ restruant for more business. Only difference? An overweight punk will deliver the food to your table, making you uncomfortable for a few seconds before you eat. No tips, thank you, it's not really a restruant

 | HondaRider91 (3) 09/27/2007 | They have good burgers that are somewhat similar to Burger King's. They also have a fine selection of soft serve ice cream's including my favorite- the oreo cookie one. However I agree with BootDeepInTheSouth, their fries are obviously fake and taste like chemicals.

 | annalouise (6) 08/21/2007 | I love their sundaes.Not a fan of their burgers though.

 | BootDeepintheSouth (0) 07/15/2007 | there are 3 in my area: Alexandria, Ball, & Pineville. All are relatively clean & a little outdated in the decor, but I'll trade that for a clean bathroom anyday. All 3 are consistently slow to fill your order. However, unlike the Alexandria MacArthur Drive Sonic, they never run out of ice cream, and DQ's soft serve is much better. The steak fingers and burgers are pretty tasty, but the fries are meh!
Over the past few years, the prices have gone up, but who hasn't? Blizzards, parfaits, & the ice cream treats are great, just stay away from the fries.

 | IceCream4me (0) 04/28/2007 | The new waffle bowl sundaes are awesome - they are baking them in the store and it smells really good when you walk in. Plus, it's $1 or so less than cold stone and a better product - get the Chocolate Covered Strawberry waffle bowl sundae!!!

 | GreggOrange (17) 03/12/2007 | Ah, I dunno... I have a soft spot (it may actually be a clogged artery) in my heart for the DQ Dude chicken fried steak sandwich. If you want a real satisfying gut bomb there is nothing like it. Real Americana on a bun. Eat one of these every day for a month and you are sure to end up in a cardiac ward!

 | PennyGirl (0) 03/01/2007 | When will DQ learn that they can't compete on certain levels. I tried thier new waffle bowl sundaes. It's still crap in a cup, only the cup was slightly burned as they make them in the stores and coated with a waxy chocolate like the choclate they dip thier ice cream cones in. Looks like they are trying to duplicate their ice cream competitors. They haven't figured out it's not what you put it in, it's what you put in it. I don't think Cold Ston has anything to worry about!

 | Sindi (0) 02/25/2007 | Ladies and Gentlemen.... I saw yesterday that the DQ near me started making waffle cones/bowls....I went in because my son had won a certificate for a free sundae, normally we don't go, but we wanted to use it up before it expired. Well, they put it in a waffle bowl for us to try. Personally, if I want ice cream and am going to blow my diet, I go Ben and Jerry's or Cold Stone (if I want it fresh). My son was dissapointed that they thrust this waffle dish on him talling his it was a waffle bowl sundae. To me, it was still crap in a dish. You can dress up DQ ice cream all you want with waffles but it's just that. Personally I think they are trying to copy thier more successful competition (not that they are even close to a regular creamery)

 | digitalmaxx (0) 06/04/2006 | Dairy Queen has good food and nice people. Unfortunately we don't have ours anymore! I always make it a point to stop at one when I'm traveling. They have the best ice cream and frozen treats ever made.

 | X Factor Z (13) 05/26/2006 | Still good, but they have gotten a little "upscale" and pricey. A person, a "long" while ago, could have gotten a Dilley bar for less than a quater.

 | minkey (36) 03/26/2006 | Food is so-so, maybe on the marginal end, but the ice cream is awesome. Go for an oreo blizzard or one of those cherry-dipped vanilla cones.

 | GaMinister (0) 03/02/2006 | It depends upon who owns your local Dairy Queen. The one in my town has wonderful food. There is always a line at the drive-thru, and usually standing room only in the dining area. However, in the town next to ours, the Dairy Queen is owned by a different person. It's always empty. Terrible food and terrible service there.

 | sfalconer (21) 10/21/2005 | The deserts are great but the burgers are not the best. They are also few and far between in my neck of the woods. The service is not that great and the only one in town could do with a complete refurbish.

 | Caleb Grubb (0) 10/21/2005 | Blizzard and ice cream dessert treats are most deffinitly a fantastic choice at the Dairy Queen. However, the cheescake blizzard and some of the regular food, do not meet my standards as of the rest of the desserts! Plus I have to agree with one the other reviewers that Dairy Queen is one heck of a landmark in Atlanta, Ga too.

 | astaples (0) 08/30/2005 | Good dessert most of the time. Our local restaurants often have stale brownies and short cakes ... one short cake they tried to give me actually crunched when I tried to scoop a bit out. The service and cleanliness leaves something to be desired as well, but I keep going back for some reason...

 | AvalonMan96 (1) 08/29/2005 | Gotta love those Blizzards! When it has Reese's peanut butter cups in it, there simply is no better dessert on this planet!

 | James76255 (17) 08/23/2005 | When I was a kid, I would take m&ms or a brownie and put it in my ice cream. Everybody said, Ew! You eat it like that? Dairy Queen does essentially the same thing, and they have people lined around the corner. Oh well.
Anyway, I should start by pointing out that I live in a town that unofficially has the biggest Dairy Queen in Texas. Food places of all kinds come and go, but the Dairy Queen is a bit of a landmark around here. Everyone from Darrell Felts (a shiver just went up someone's spine) to Bowling for Soup to the Von Erichs have stopped in at the DQ.
That said... It ain't what it used to be. The service has gone way down hill, and I was never particularly impressed by the burgers. Their other menu choices are pretty much frozen foods they just heat up, so nothing spectacular. On the up side, the Country Baskets are still pretty good. They are a choice of steak fingers or chicken strips, and it comes with two pieces of Texas Toast, fries, and the best gravy anywhere. Friday is Catfish night, and they have soup, chili, and bean specials on other nights of the week. Of course, the ice cream is really good.
I agree that their prices are getting out of hand, and it's the main reason I bring this down to a three. The last time I went, I called in a Beltbuster combo. When I got to the drive through window, they charged me almost $8. I thought they were tying to give me two. The Country Baskets are still priced reasonable, but I'll be going elsewhere for a burger from now on.

 | 1wildman (0) 07/16/2005 | I joined their new gimmick--free blizzard with the purchase on one, printed the coupon online, went to the local dairy queen in north bergen nj, and was told by jimmy (manager) sorry we don't accept this coupon, I stated it had his address on it and he had no explanation and walked away-(so did I)-- this is a cheap lowlife gimmick by corporate scum to suck $$ out of our pockets-- as for me never again dairy queen-dairy_queen_sucks@verizon.net--my new email address

 | barbkaye57 (0) 01/23/2005 | Dairy Queen is ok. The food is fair, I only eat there because it's the only fast food on this side of town so I rarely go for the food. I've had much better ice cream-they have ice milk and you can tell. I really LOVE the blizzards but they have gotten SO EXPENSIVE. You can hardly afford to take 2 adults and 2 kids there for desert anymore. We were looking forward to their pumpkin pie blizzards during the holiday season but our local franchise didn't carry them.
