	jaywilton (26) 11/01/2005	Jolson,who was widely considered to be the greatest entertainer of his time,starred in the first talkie-'The Jazz Singer'.Actually,for 1927 standards the story(redone with Neil Diamond)of the conflict between religious tradition and showbiz on Jolson AKA Jacob Rabinowitz/Jack Robin is very well done;Jolson was the right guy for the job.The movie also includes a recital by Yussele Rosenblatt/Joseff Rosenblatt,who is still widely considered to be the greatest cantor off all time.
