This is a good one. Not only did he essentially build an empire, but he molded the way people entertained themselves for years, plus gave roots to arguably the biggest tourist attractions in the country. A little known fact about Walt Disney: At 17, he lied about his age so he could volunteer for the American Red Cross Ambulance Force during World War I, serving in that role for about a year.
