We can sit and argue until the fat lady sings whether it's important or not to know how to dress. The truth is - people who are well taken cared of and have some sort of style look much more presentable and the way more appealing than the people who don't care how they dress. Personally for me, it's important because it tells me that you have not only sense of style and color coordination, but self respect and self worth by putting time in perfecting or intensifying what God has already given you.

Knowing how to dress is an important quality to have. Color coordinating is part of it. I've seen some where you need to wear sunglasses to look at them, because the colors can be very blinding to look at.

I would give this a 5, but instead I choose to be dishonest because I'm such a slovenly pig whenever I think I can get away with it.

Too much stock is put into appearances,while little is said about the inner nature of anything,including people.It is too easy for a terrorist or criminal to fool people by dressing a certain way.A humble beggar can look like a King,a Prince may choose the disguise of a pauper and an idiot can even pass for a President in the right expensive suit these days!

Essential in the sense that the only alternative is to live your life on a nude beach. Very useful in regards to those who don't want to end up getting fashion advice from a homeless person.

If you're a slob, others will treat you in kind. Knowing how to dress neatly, even if not the latest style, is a small investment in one's interpersonal relationships. And, as Fernando said, if you look good you will feel good (or something along those lines!)

As they say, first impressions are lasteing. I can't count the number of times I have been pegged as someone from the Mafia, so maybe that gives you some idea as to how I used to dress - at least until a few years ago when I retired and started to dress a lot more casually.

Absolutely. Jobs and relationships dont happen easily unless you make this some kind of priority. It might not be fair but its fact.
