I love this idea just because it gives many of us here more opportunities to get up our fat asses.

I am too old, besides I hate bikes clogging up the streets.

I live in a suburban neighborhood, and while I could walk or bike to some stores for short trips, I usually choose the convenience of driving. I wish I could bike to work, but there isn't a bike path or biker friendly roads that connects to where I work. I know there are plans in my area to connect several current trails to make this possible, so this may be something that I have the opportunity to do in the future.

Not safe around here. You will get hit by a car.

I do this occaisionally, but there really aren't too many things within walking distance.

I walk to stuff in my neighborhood, be it the pub, my doctor, the liquor store, the barber, a bakery, a couple of restaurants, and a small grocery. Essentially anything within six to ten blocks as long as I don't have to carry anything big.

When i got my drivers licence back in 1992, i was going to still ride the bike even though i could drive a car, but i never did ride the bike again!

You honestly don't realise hopw lazy you have become until you no longer own a car. I haven't owned a car in almost six years and I'm more healthier now than I've ever been. Sure public transport over here in England is a bitch, but taking those short trips via foot helps tremendously for your daily exercise and people who tend to walk more often how often do you hear them complaining their out of breath?

I definitely try to do this more often since the prices for gas are so much. Walking or riding bikes is a good way to relax, much more than what I can get from driving, and it's a good way to get a little workout.

I would walk much more if my destinations(work, stores, etc.) were closer.

Would not only improve air quality, but would help our lazy zombie generation get some exercise and stay in shape.

I don't do this as often as I could/should. When I go shopping, I usually only go when I've got a LOT of things to buy, more than I can haul with me on a bike, so it wouldn't be practical to ride my bike up to the supermarket or anything.

No bicycle, but whenever possible I walk. Friends think I'm screwy but it feels good.
