Sometimes it might be more preferable to use a watering can but I like my long showers in the morning.

I like showers in the full length stalls. I hate stooping over in the shorter showers.
UPDATE: Does this mean that stinky people are better for the environment?

I have gotten better at this...used to take marathon showers.
twansalem 05/12/2008
I do this sometimes, but it's usually because I'm in a hurry.

Depends. I can be in and out of a shower in about two minutes on some days.
On others, when my battered knees and shoulders are aching, we're looking at the shower as hydro-therapy.

I'm all over it. I can get "ready" in the morning in about 6 minutes. For me, it's all about sleep extension here, as opposed to saving the planet - but hey, the ends justify the means.

Depends on how much dirt you gotta scrub off at the end of the day. Some people just need to spend a little more time to get all the crud out of hair and other places. I'm not gonna sue someone for wasting water when he or she needs to scrub up, just that if you don't please be nice to the Earth and limit your water usage a smidge. :)

. . .how about showering together more? It was a quality attempt to pick up enviro-chicks in college. . .
kamylienne 01/22/2006
Okay. I admit it. I just can't take a short shower. And sometimes I take multiple showers a day ( . . . after I exercise, I gotta shower). I spend forever in the shower. I could probably save a ton on our water bill if I stopped taking my time in there (but there's just some things you don't wanna rush . . . like shaving your legs). Hehe. In reference to Andrew Scott's comment: typically, when two people are in the shower together, the shower time tends to be longer, anyway, and you're not saving much water ; ).

Or, just shower with somebody for the same length of time. Two clean bodies for the price of one.

I would take shorter showers if I didn't smell like a dead yak.

For a stern lesson in quick showers, join the military! (I know it feels good to stand under a hot shower, especially after hard labor-but if you are sore and achy and want to save water AND relax, try a hot bath with some epsom salts instead).

I think I take regular length showers. Five minutes? But we are on well supply, in the country, and there is plenty of water around here. So shorter showers wouldn't really accomplish all that much. But, on the conservation side, I do use drip irrigation for everything (garden, orchard, small vineyard, all house landscaping) so that probably more than offsets the normal showers.
